Never again.
The central location was great and also very close to the Arbeia Roman Fort - defintely worth a visit. The lounge decor was pleasant. Good sized rooms, the two rooms upstairs are huge. Host was responsive.
The property was filfthy when we arrived. Toilet was unflushed and soiled. Sink, tiles, bath, mirror, sils, towel rail all very dirty, a layer of fluff/dust over surfaces (more than just a few days or a week). Dog biscuits on the bedroom floor, soiled/blood stained bedding. Spilt food on walls/doors. Mouldy crusty food remained in the fridge, toast crumbs on toaster, food remainss in culterly drawer, cupboards, oven, dirty glasses, dirty food stained cushions, very old filthy looking throwover on the master bed (very lumpy and uncomfortable), broken, stained desk in the master rooom (supposed to be a vanity table), no wardrobe or chest of drawers. We had to spend 4 hours cleaning before anyone wanted to even get in the beds. Not enough mugs for everyone, no decent foot utensils for food prep (for example, really cheap bendy plastic serving spoons), no oven gloves, no tin opener. Slugs visited the lounge at night and left trails all over the carpet. Response from host was reasonable the following day and a cleaner was sent out to clean - but it disrupted our stay and we weren't given any compensation.
