Rainforest Cottage

Great location near beaches, clean, comfortable, very quiet, rainforest at the end of the garden, good kitchen and table for dining, nice veranda. Dog friendly. Hosts kind and helpful.

Can't think of anything at this time of year (winter-spring)

It was a quiet location with a comfortable bed and lounge and it was spacious. There was a 2nd toilet which was handy. We were able to bring our dog with us and could have walked through the rainforest which the property backs onto if we chose to. Host Jacky was very obliging and we had a great choice of breakfast items.

Beautiful backyard access to the rainforest, walking distance (through the rainforest on a concrete path for part of the way) to Lighthouse Beach and Tacking Point Lighthouse which has wonderful views and is a great place to spot whales during the season. Cottage is toasty warm in the winter. Lovely balcony to sit on and watch and listen to the rainforest sounds. Neighbours are quiet.

This is not a criticism of the property but just to make people aware that it’s in a hilly part of town. Everywhere you walk from the cottage involves an uphill climb at some points. It’s also downhill from the street parking to the cottage. Nice wide platform steps make it very safe though but just be aware that if you’re making several trips to unload your car, you might need a rest haha! The hot water service is also quite small so if your wife also likes to take long luxurious showers in the evening, either get in first or bump yours till the morning.
