Raystown lake close to boat launch and all amenities wooded paradise

This was a wonderful property in an amazing location. The host was very helpful.

The location of this beautiful property was close to the stores, diners, and scenic overlooks near the bottom of the lake. A lovely view of the mountain and starry night sky. We appreciate being able to bring out little dog with us. On one of our dog walks...We discovered that one of the neighbors is maintaining a small historic cemetery from the 1800's. They thoughtful put a bench there for sitting with the quiet. We had a day of sight seeing and a day of relaxing with movies. The couches and living spaces are inviting. The screened porch with gas fire pit was an lovely surprise. The dishes and bathroom needed a little cleaning to reach my standards, but we made great memories! I will be recommending this place to friends and family. Thank you.Sarah

The rental is average at best at this time. Communication was good and we had no particular issues with utility. The owner needs to be aware of the following:1) The shower drain appears to be leaking onto the Dryer downstairs2) The property not properly cleaned prior to our arrival; hair in tub, sink, toilet....stinkbugs over floors, counters not wiped, etc.The property appears to be "under construction", being updated, etc.... it has alot of potential. However, it would be considered unsafe for kids downstairs in basement area, where property is entered....screws lying on cement floor, nails, paint, insulation and tools are within reach of children who may not always be supervised.I do not remember if it was in the property description or not....this property is not accessible for persons with disabilities and is not ideal for seniors who may have difficulties navigating stairs....just more than we would do again if other options available. There was no view of river from the property this time of year (May)Generally we enjoyed the stay.....and appreciate the time we had with family there.
