Hotel Suzumeya Tsukiji ホテルすずめや築地

Loved the wooden ryokan experience - a cute tatami area sat beneath the loft style bed. Beds were incredibly comfortable which was a great surprise. The staff at this hotel (and it's sister hotel 5 mins away) were fantastic. So friendly and accomodating. While we didn't have breakfast included, it is offered for purchase. This was a standout feature. You don't eat onsite, but at the other hotel with the restaurant. It was delicious and worth the money.

Can't fault this place much - the size is obviously on the small side, so if you're not comfortable with narrow entry ways and steep wooden stairs to climb, I'd reconsider. The bathroom is split into the shower (very small), a toilet room, and a very small sink. The tatami matted area is nice, but tall people would need to duck.

Everything! Truly cannot think of one negative thing about this beautiful little hotel. The craftsmanship and care that went into every detail of this place is amazing, the location couldn’t be better, the breakfast toast set we had was perfect, and the bed was the most comfortable of our entire trip. 1000 out of 10, I can’t imagine ever coming to Tokyo again and not staying at Hotel Suzumeya.

La struttura, piccola ma curatissima, offre un vero tuffo nel passato. L’atmosfera è calda e autentica, con arredi tipici che permettono di immergersi fin da subito nello stile giapponese che si desidera vivere. Gli ambienti sono accoglienti e ben tenuti, ideali per chi cerca un’esperienza più intima rispetto ai grandi hotel. Io e mia figlia ci siamo trovate molto bene: l’accoglienza è stata uno dei punti forti del soggiorno. Lo staff è estremamente gentile, disponibile e attento, creando un clima familiare e rilassato. Un’esperienza davvero piacevole, consigliata a chi vuole vivere il Giappone in modo autentico.

Super cute and charming hotel. It is not really a hotel, but more like someone's home. We had two rooms on the second floor, and there were only two rooms on the second floor, haha. Super nice staff. Very small staircase that had to be traversed with luggage, but it was manageable. Just a great first night's stay for our first time in Japan - great intro to Japan-living. The futon beds were surprisingly, very comfortable!

No elevator so large, heavy luggage can be a challenge to get to the rooms upstairs! Also, it was noisy in the morning because it shares a small alley with business that start preparing for the day in the very early morning hours.
