ღ La Corniche • Grand Studio, Piscine & Parking

Location is superb - everything is in easy reach, with the old port a 15 minute walk away, and a supermarket, various shops including a delicious, friendly boulangerie and delicatessen just around the corner. The swimming pool was lovely and the property very quiet, secure and peaceful. The other residents were friendly and welcoming. I was able to have a really pleasant stay and go to lots of different locations nearby on foot and by bike, with a gorgeous cafe just up the road. The apartment is well-laid out and the bed comfortable. The property is near to a Yelo bike hire rack and everything you need within easy reach. La Rochelle is so pretty and has so much to do, I could have happily stayed longer.

Check in process was difficult - no name on the post box/lock box at the property and the instructions were very difficult to access/download without a very strong WiFi signal, but you don't get the Wifi code until you have downloaded the instructions! I had to forward the email to my friend in the UK and she sent me the gate and door access codes. I had asked for early check in and the host said they would let me know nearer the time, but I arrived at the property still not having heard from them and with no way to contact them, despite emails. The studio is small, well-planned and neat, but the only window is the balcony/sliding doors, and as the property is on the ground floor, not safe to leave open at night - a fan would be helpful when the weather is hot. The kitchen could be better stocked - no vegetable peeler, no garlic press, no spare bin bags, no clingfilm or foil, no large glasses or mugs. There were only 6 hangers, which doesn't really seem enough! I did think also that the shower could have been cleaner. I don't want to be too negative as I would stay here again, providing some changes were made - the location is really perfect.

Alles!

Location and peaceful setting.

Customer support is virtually non existent. The host wrongly informed us that our security deposit had not been paid, it was the day before according to our bank and Booking.com. Our messages (via email, Booking.com) had no response so we were left unsure when we left home whether we had lost our holiday booking. The host took almost 4 hours to respond with no apology. An unnecessary stressful time which spoilt our experience.
