Winchelsea sands holiday park

Nice quiet resort for a weekend stay with my young grandson. It had all we needed. We had good weather. The beach was a short walk away and the outdoor pool was good as it gave you hour slots so it wasn't too crowded.The clubhouse served a good range of meals and drinks,it was a short walk to the co-op and there was a pub outside the site too. All staff were very friendly and welcoming and we had a lovely weekend staying here. Entertainment was varied and a chance to win big on bingo. Live band on Saturday night was great. All the meals we ordered were generous portions and really nice.

Previous occupants food items were still in cupboards. A fair bit of clutter which didn't help in a small space. There were 2 adults and one 6 yr old in the caravan and we managed ok but a bigger family or older kids would struggle. The 2 single beds were cable tied together which was fine for us but might not suit others. Apart from that we had no issues. We used the hob, the fridge,the shower and toilet. No problems.

It was so lovely, clean and had everything we could need. The owner is so lovely I will definitely be going back!!

Shower too hot, no towels as expected and charged £25 for 1 adult and 3 young children for a 45 minute use of the outside pool!

Really comfy sofa and good kitchen walking distance to the beach and with an onsite clubhouse which was handy. We were short on gas but the owner sorted that quickly and made checking in fairly easy with key collection

I have to be fair, there were a few areas for improvement. A crucial one was no hot water, that’s essential, told owner we were checking out earlier than planned as we couldn’t shower and they didn’t address it in their response. The main door is a pain to shut, think it needs replacing as it’s also not sealed and so legs cold air in/heat out. Advert should be clear that they don’t provide bedding or towels and charge £25 if needed, we brought our own and although there was a duvet on one bed I was glad we did because it wasn’t up to clean standards I’d expect, looked like mould stains. As customers we’d benefit from a welcome pack telling us how to use the heating, if there’s WiFi (couldn’t see a router and clubhouse told us as we didn’t book through them we couldn’t pay for theirs), simple things like to open the toilet door you have to pull the handle up not down (I thought I was locked in 🤣) no clear instructions for guests. Overall for the price and convenience it was fine but probably wouldn’t book it again. Can hear everything outside, if you’re looking for a good sleep it’s not for you. One neighbour is really inconsiderate, revs his motorbike for no reason for long periods early morning.
