Makramia Compound

Rooms were clean and spacious. AC worked fine. Good location: close to the airport, supermarket, other shops, restaurants, etc...

Wifi does not work when you arrive. You need to text the owner, because he will not activate the wifi automatically. If you don't send a text to activate the wifi, you will not have any wifi at all. After you text the owner for wifi, it takes a couple of hours before the wifi is active. Showers are cold and it often happens that there is no water at all. Sometimes the power goes out, because the owner did not top up the balance of the energy providing unit. If this happens, you'll need to text the owner and one of the compound guards will tap the prepaid card against the energy unit and you'll have power again. Matrasses are very hard, but somehow we slept OK-ish.
