Lovely Canal Boat in Little Venice for Family & Friends

Wonderful experience of staying on a canal boat. The location is easy to find and near to eateries. Gorgeous area to discover and lovely waterside walks. Close walking proximity to Paddington station and a wider choice of bars, shops and restaurants. The boat has what you need in terms of water, power, shower, tea making facilities, linen etc. Really comfy bed. It was lovely to sit on the stern and watch the sunset. Excellent comms from the owner and the manual provided is really helpful

Everything was great. I would have ideally liked a less thick pillow as a back sleeper but used a cushion instead!

We loved having somewhere unique to stay that wasn’t a hotel room for an overnight stop. I’ve had a barge stay on my bucket list for a while now so was brilliant to use (we were visiting Lords, so an ideal spot). With a sunny day, we were able to enjoy a vino sat outside on deck and everyone was so friendly as walkers and other boating folk were cruising up/down the river early eve. Plenty of throws etc too for night time when just turned a little chilly so no bother at all. Ate at The Summerhouse in the evening (had booked in advance… ano bucket list tick) and also enjoyed The Grand Junction Cafe on our checkout morning, which was literally on land as you get off the boat and down a small slope. Can recommend both! Found a Sainsbury’s local a 10 min walk so would recommend bringing bits with you, milk etc when en-route to Little Venice, if you get chance to save an extra trip.

The only thing (and def not a dislike… more an ask) is for a few more pics to go with the instructions, like there was for the power bank. We were giggling trying to find the tiny water switch and the loo flush etc (not being campers). We thought we were being completely daft… and probably were! 😉

The boat was very comfortable and cosy with everything you need. The place was calm and safe. The owner Thomas is super friendly and helpful. It’s a different way to experience London in a very special way!

Unique experience and great area but wouldn't recommend in the late winter/early spring. Duvets good so warm though once in bed! Super friendly and helpful host.

Managed to light the stove quite quickly on the first evening when the air was freezing and quite humid but the second night we gave up trying after two hours (despite being regular woodburning stove users!).
