Friendly host

Not particularly suitable for people with mobility issues as parking was very uneven surface, access to property narrow and overgrown. Microwave was situated on top of a large fridge/freezer so not accessible and dangerous to use. Garden was not particularly well maintained and overgrown.

Good location away from the busy main road. Host was very friendly, welcoming & informative. The lodge is well designed and functions well. Chideock is a great base from which to explore this wonderful part of the country. Two good pubs within easy walking distance - we had good meals in both, especially liked the friendly, relaxed welcome in The George Inn (although the staff at The Clock were no different !).

The property is exactly as described. As a couple in our mid seventies, manoeuvrability in a tight ish space presented minor problems, but that was down to us and should in no way reflect upon the review for Will’s great retreat !

Very quiet, private little garden, short walk to the beach. Excellent for walking the coast. Good access to walks on foot and bus. Cabin is surrounded by cherry trees, birds and plants. Allocated parking. Will (the host) is excellent, gave us the required infos on how to find the path to the beach, or the busses along the coast. He is unbelievably helpful and easily accessible. We will come again.

If you know Chideock, you know you have to be away from the Road, preferably above it, to get away from the sound. This property does both. Its very quiet, but with good walking and car access, and a dedicated parking spot. Shopping is easy with as shop under 5 minutes away and many with in 5-10 mins driving. I especially like the farm shop on top of the hill. Pubs with food are within walking difference, as is the bus. If you have kids there is a good play ground 5 minutes walk away. The beach is walkable too, as are the hills above the village. The host lives close, and knows loads and is very helpful.
