The house’s location is excellent - there’s a pontoon just around the corner and two lovely beaches a 15-20 minute walk away. NCY SUP rent out paddle boards a 5 min walk away, there’s an amazing boulangerie just up the road and we had a fantastic lunch at the Poisson Rouge, which was about 25 min walk along the bike path.The views from the back porch are amazing, and the garden is a lovely place to spend time during the day and the evening.The checkin process was really easy, and the concierge Lea was excellent all throughout the stay.What was a disappointment though was that one week into our 2 week stay, the electricity in the living room, dining room and downstairs WC blew. Lea was very reactive (despite it being a Sunday!) and sent someone round the next day to look at it (the owner also called us to apologise). The person managed to get the living room lights back on by 20:30 on Monday evening, but the problem was a very old circuit in the WC that they couldn’t fix themselves. What surprised me is that as of Monday, there was no further communication from the owner. This means that for half of our stay, my elderly parents who were in the downstairs bedroom had to use flashlights to use the bathroom in the evening. Given the price paid for this rental, I was very surprised that there was no further communication or financial gesture from the owner given that 1 of the 2 toilets was basically out of service for a week.
