Mai Sunset Beach Resort

This property is amazing! If you aren’t staying here while visiting Fiji you’re missing out. The staff go above and beyond. The food is a 2 course for lunch and 3 course for dinner. The chef always outdoes herself with the meals. We went on a village tour, where most of the staff are from, and met their families and made us feel so welcomed. All the small details that have been put into this resort have just made our experience 1000 times more memorable. Shout to Jay and Rede we will definitely be back!

Such a beautiful relaxing resort . Facilities are excellent and new . The staff go out of their way to make you feel like home . Food was exceptional thanks to chef Beverly and overall it was very good value for money . Will come again especially once they have finished and put the pool in

Nothing it was amazing . There is some construction work happening periodically as they add and expand the resort but it didn’t interfere with our stay and the addition of a pool next year will make it even better

We stayed in 7 different Yasawa resorts and all three of us agreed that this was the best overall resort. The food here was easily the best. Individually prepared and always providing several options. I really felt much of the food was as good as any fine dining establishment. Tastiest shrimp I've ever eaten. The promenade along the beach, lined with palm trees was incredibly photogenic, and the indoor/outdoor dining area was really beautiful. Rooms were brand new, with spacious bathrooms and lovely outdoor showers with lots of hooks for hanging suits and towels. The tour to swim with Manta Rays from this resort was so much fun and affordable. The guys who captained the boats and swam with us, really made the experience exciting. There is a nice long walk along the nearly mile long secluded beach, and as the name implies, expansive views of sunset. We think they should make this an adults-only resort. We were lucky during our stay to only have two quiet children on the property, but this resort, more than any other we visited, has a peaceful and romantic vibe that should be preserved, seizing their opportunity to make this a premier honeymoon spot.

Swimming and snorkeling from the beach was easy, but fish and coral not as plentiful as other resorts. The resort wasn't fully booked and I felt it could have still used some more loungers or hammocks. While the day-to-day staff was friendly and warm, we felt like the manager was being forced to focus far too much on getting payment, and this detracted from creating an inviting atmosphere. Check-in was lengthy with lots of paperwork and signatures. Every time you did or bought something you were immediately presented a receipt to sign. I hope these are just growing pains with this new resort and staff.
