Bikki's jungle homestay

Our stay at Bikki’s Jungle Homestay was one of the highlights of our time in Vietnam. This is much more than accommodation, it is an opportunity to experience daily life, Dzao culture and the extraordinary natural beauty surrounding Lung Tao. Bikki welcomed us with genuine warmth and made us feel like part of her family. We shared delicious home-cooked meals, made with fresh local ingredients, walked alongside the rice terrace fields nestled in the mountains. We swam beneath a beautiful waterfall and learned how organic Shan Tuyet tea is traditionally picked and processed. Bikki is an inspiring, knowledgeable and generous host. We loved hearing about her family, her community and her decision to return home and build a sustainable future through the homestay and tea production. The accommodation is simple and communal, in a traditional stilt house, so visitors should come expecting an authentic homestay rather than a resort. The remote location is part of what makes it so special. If you want to escape the usual tourist trail, connect with local people and experience a very different side of Ha Giang, we cannot recommend Bikki’s Jungle Homestay highly enough. We left with wonderful memories, a deeper understanding of Dzao life and some beautiful tea. Thank you, Bikki and family. Hau be!

Bikki and her family are the best. They really look after you. I'd definitely stay here again.

This is a very authentic homestay experience. Bikki is interesting and has a wonderful family and home. It is quiet and in the country/jungle with well marked hiking up into the mountain with waterfalls and pristine water. Kind and small village out of the touristareas.

It is a 1.5 hour taxi drive to get there and we did not mind it at all but it is a ride and a beautiful one on a small road.

Wat geweldig om bij Bikki's homestay te mogen verblijven en om Bikki en haar familie 3 dagen mee te mogen maken. De homestay ligt verlaten midden in de ongerepte natuur en nodigt uit om prachtige wandelingen samen met Bikki te maken wat we gedaan hebben. Dichtbij hebben we heerlijk gezwommen bij een meertje bij een waterval. Het ontbijt is erg eenvoudig en de lunch en het diner zijn smaakvol en vers bereid door de familie en wordt vaak op open vuur bereid. Voor ons een ervaring om dit te kunnen meemaken. De sanitaire voorzieningen zijn erg eenvoudig en voldoen niet aan westerse normen, maar als je er bent neem je dit voor lief omdat iedereen (inclusief de andere gasten) zo aardig, vriendelijk en behulpzaam zijn. Het was voor ons een fantastische ervaring.
