Villa Leonor Cliffside Retreat

The villa is a joy to stay in … huge windows flooding it with light and opening onto breathtaking views. So much attention to detail and thoughtfulness throughout the villa, with everything provided that you could possibly need. A special mention for the coffee-maker (excellent!), the small gym and the games room. The pool was larger than expected and we appreciated it being heated. Great location for a different Madeira experience than previous visits - rural, quiet and easy access to some wonderful hikes. Very easy to recommend and we’d love to come back. But a final comment for Marco - easily the most engaging host we’ve ever encountered. The communication from Marco before and during the holiday was superb. We received a lovely warm welcome in person despite a delayed and therefore very late arrival. Much appreciated - thank you!

Nothing at all to dislike but a couple of observations/ideas. We were a family of four adults in a medium sized car. Like anywhere we have rented in Madeira, parking is a tight fit, requiring a bit of manoeuvring. You need a car staying here but I wouldn’t hire a very large one. Marco - maybe an additional armchair in the lounge as seating for four required bringing in an armchair from outside ( not a criticism - this worked just fine for us!)

Geweldige villa. Groot en luxe ingericht. Heerlijk zwembad en leuk vermaak (pooltafel en tafeltennis). Zeer fijn dat er een vaatwasser, wasmachine en droger zijn. Marco, ons contactpersoon van de host, is erg gezellig en helpt goed!!’

Mijn best gedaan om iets te bedenken. En gevonden. Daarom prijs-kwaliteit net niet de hoogste score gegeven: het fornuis is echt heel langzaam. Wat het lastiger kan maken om te koken voor zes man. Nog één extra dingetje, maar dat lag niet aan de host of de villa: ze waren doordeweeks aan het bouwen op het naastgelegen terrein. Dat was herrie om 08:00. Maar dat zal wel snel over gaan.
