Casas da Levada was honestly one of the highlights of my time in Madeira. The house itself was beautiful peaceful, authentic, and full of character, without feeling overly touristy or artificial. It had a warm and calming atmosphere from the moment I arrived. The room was comfortable, clean, and cosy, with everything needed to properly rest and slow down after long days exploring the island. One thing I particularly appreciated was how well equipped the kitchen was. There were proper utensils and cooking equipment available, which made it easy and enjoyable to prepare real meals rather than just basic holiday food. Small details like this made the stay feel much more personal and welcoming. The surrounding nature was absolutely stunning. Waking up amongst the greenery and quiet atmosphere felt genuinely restorative. The views were incredible especially in the mornings and evenings when the light changed across the hills and valley. It felt connected to the real Madeira rather than a commercial resort experience. The entire property had a peaceful energy to it. Perfect for hiking, resting, reading, thinking, or simply sitting outside listening to nature. It felt isolated in the best possible way quiet, safe, and deeply relaxing. I would absolutely stay again and would strongly recommend Casas da Levada to anyone looking for a more authentic, calm, and beautiful experience in Madeira.

Everything was perfect

A wonderful, quiet, surrounded by nature small hotel that is just the perfect to return to after a day exploring Madeira.

There is no service. Everything is self-service. The rooms need to be updated. We were locked up in the room because we left the key in the lock outside by mistake. We couldn’t get out because the door knob is broken. The only way to open the door from inside is to use the key. There is no contact number provided to us. The reception hour is from 9 to 6pm. That means, after 6pm, you’d better ask for nothing. My daughter finally contacted them from making IG call. Luckily someone in the owner’s family answered it. Then the owner came to rescue us. She is actually living in the property. This is so absurd that there’s no emergency contact number for the guests to contact the hotel. The telephone number in the website is hung up for purposely not answering any call. I think for the level of service and the condition of the property, the rate is outrageous. On the second day, I asked for one more orange for our breakfast, the lady looking after the property said there’s no more available. On top of that, she hadn’t been friendly. No welcome, no thank you!
