THIS BEAUTIFUL VILLA commands an enviable location with stunning views over the Ocean. Exuding charm with space to relax and breathe. Traditional features, contemporary facilities and a large garden, combine to offer luxury spacious accommodation in the serenity of this peaceful village.
THE PRIVATE HEATED POOL is the prime feature of the Villa, measuring 6 metres by 3 metres, with depth from 1.2 metres to 1.5 metres. Heated all year and included in the Tariff. The Villa faces south, guaranteeing sun on the Pool from 10am until Sunset. Likewise, all rooms within the property enjoy the same South facing elevation and magnificent Ocean views.
THE TOP FLOOR has the Kitchen Diner and Sun Lounge, in an Open Plan arrangement. With a sun drenched Balcony the full length of the Villa.
THE KITCHEN DINER is fully fitted with all appliances including an Espresso machine and a generous variety of kitchen utensils.
The Breakfast Bar seats 6 people and a Flexible Table is provided to facilitate Guest preference.
The SUN LOUNGE has space to relax with Ocean views. The facilities include 2 Sofas, a 50" TV and DVD player. Internet speed of Mpbs 1000/400.
THE FIRST FLOOR offers the MASTER BEDROOM with queen size bed (160cm) and a spacious ensuite shower room with Power shower & opening window. Balcony with Ocean view and AC.
Opposite a SECOND large double bedroom, also with Balcony and AC has it's own private Terrace.
In between is the Family Bathroom with a spacious Power shower and opening window.
THE GROUND FLOOR offers two more Bedrooms.
Bedroom 3 has a King size bed, and Bedroom 4 has robustly constructed Bunk Beds.
There is an additional shower room, with a separate toilet on this floor.
Please note these are accessed by going through Bedroom 4.
So this floor is suitable for a second family or children.
Alternatively, Bedroom 4 Guests can use the Family bathroom.
ALL BEDS are Custom made to our personal design by local Craftsmen, and fitted with quality mattresses to guarantee a good night's sleep.
Hotel grade linen and Towels are also provided, Bedroom 1 & 2 have large fitted wardrobes so that you may enjoy your holiday clutter free. Bedroom 3 & 4 have open plan arrangements. The USB ports next to each bed allow convenience for everybody's gadgets.
AIR CONDITIONING systems serve every room, offering Heat or Cooling to suit the season, using efficient Eco Air Heat Pump technology.
HOT WATER is provided by an Eco Tank, again using the latest Air Heat Pump technology. Most electric is provided by the Islands Wind farms located on the plateau.
ALL BEDROOMS are fitted with shutters to allow traditional control of sun, heat and airflow.
THE POOL TERRACE and GARDENS will be a delight for our Guests, and offer substantial additional facilities. Sunbeds allow our Guests to enjoy year round sunshine and to relax underneath Mature Californian Palms and other tropical trees. Average daytime temperatures from 20c to 35c.
THE BBQ TERRACE has a large Granite table to seat 8 people for Al fresco dining underneath a Pergola. This delightful Terrace commands a wide panorama overlooking the Ocean.
GARDENS surround the Pool Terrace with staircases between different levels. PARKING is provided at the side of the Villa, for one car behind a Security gate. Additional spaces are available in the quiet road outside the Villa. The whole property is surrounded by garden walls and gates offering peace of mind, that children cannot wander accidentally into the road.
CALHETA is the prime Tourist area of Madeira and is on the less developed, popular, Western side of the island. It consists of a group of villages. Located on the quieter side, Faja da Ovelha offers a peaceful location. The Via Rapide is the modern wide road, connecting most parts of the Island. It is accessed only 5 minutes away and provides a quick and safe route to Calheta Marina or other parts of the Island.

OR 12/15 minutes to Calheta Marina, with Beach Restaurants and activities.

1. A car is essential anywhere outside of Funchal.
2. We recommend Guests to take out the cheap travel insurance that is available, to cover all concerns, to remove any financial stress form your holiday plans.
3. Parties & Music around the Pool, are NOT welcome.
4. The Villa can sleep 8 people but the Kitchen Diner comfortably seats 6 people. Therefore we do not charge for Guest 7 & 8.

A wonderful property in a lovely location. We didn’t tire of the views and it was a great spot to see both south and northern parts of the island.The little touches of tea, coffee and milk were appreciated. Calheta has a great supermarket and lots of little restaurants to explore around the area.Communication was fabulous too. Couldn’t fault our stay.

We had a lovely week at the villa. Prior to arrival Bill's communication was excellent in terms of advice and information. A minor issue we had was resolved immediately during our stay. The villa is just as it looks in the photos and description. I would re-emphaisise that you need a car to go anywhere (which did not bother us but may not suit everyone). Calheta is 15 minutes or so away with lots of restaurants, beach and a marina (we went on a boat trip and saw lots of Dolphins). We also went to another couple of excellent restaurants in the other direction from the property. Many thanks Bill, we had a great time.

Host provided helpful instructions prior to arrival.
Self check in was easy.
Coffee tea & milk were provided.
We could not use pool on our 1st & 2nd day while maintenance was working on the pool.
We were asked to fill the pool with water before we could use it which felt like another inconvenience.
The pool is smaller than it looked in the listing pictures & has cheap fake tile liner glued to it.
The washing machine was not working & although it was impressive to have it fixed within a day, having workers on property again was another intrusion during our stay.
Showers have no shelf to put soaps, master shower does not drain well, fills up with water.
Dish drainer needs to be replaced as it has black in the corners (also mentioned in prior 6/30/24 review)
The gate does not always close with remote & you have to manually close it. (also mentioned in prior 6/12/24 review)
House next-door is very close & was noisier than what we would’ve liked.
Yes we could have communicated all these concerns during our 5 day stay but after the intrusions & need to send several messages regarding the pool & washing machine the first 2 days we decided to disconnect & enjoy the rest of our time off our phones.
Overall the house & view are beautiful, but the entire property needs attention. Based on this & all the little things adding up, unfortunately our experience was not a much-needed peaceful stay & we did not feel that we received value for the price & would not recommend or stay here again
