The issue I had getting access to the property due to a neighbour locking a communal door

The property overall was clean and the sofas were comfortable. The bathroom was good, clean, with an excellent shower, which was welcome in the hot weather and it is ideally sited for Roker beach and Seaburn. The kitchen had all the electrical equipment you need, including a small dishwasher which was enough for 2 people. The bed linen was lovely and soft. And we found additional towels, dishwasher tablets etc which was very helpful.

The main issue is that the property is not an apartment, it is a small bungalow built in the back garden/yard of the original property; which I didn't realise, though that may just be my mistake. The living room has no standard windows, just velux windows, which we could not open, nor had any blinds. There was a window in the bedroom with a small top opening section. Overall it made the property extremely stuffy, especially in the hot weather recently. In order to get some fresh air in we had to open the front door, however the proximity to the bin storage room for the whole property meant that this lead to a lot of flies entering the property. Also, if any of the other tenants left the door to the bin room open it also smelt. Although the kitchen itself had all the electrical equipment you need and enough cutlery, plates etc for 2 people, there was only a single saucepan and no real serving dishes. The outside space was just a bare area, with a fence to separate from where people accessed the bin room. There were 2 chairs and a table outside, but no attempt had been made to actually make it a pleasant place to sit. A bit of greenery would have helped and might have reduced the impact of being so near the bin room. There was no airer, nor clothes horse; so when we did wash clothes we had a struggle to find places to hang our clothes to dry.
