Villa Greenjay Ahangama

We loved our long stay at Greenjay Villa. The house was super cosy, with all 3 rooms having great beds and their own air conditioning. The kitchen was big and complete, and there was a lot of room inside the house. The garden was beautiful and very well maintained. The WiFi was mostly fast and reliable. We also loved our cleaning lady, whom we paid a bit extra once per week. They also left us a stock of water bottles which we could use and pay for at the end, this was amazing as it eliminated the need to do shop runs. Also, the property had two entrance gates, which made it super accessible from the road, especially on bikes. It is next to the train track, but far enough for it not to be disturbing. There are some monkeys and other animals around at times, but they were never noisy. The neighbours were always friendly, and we were constantly going to Hungry Puppet, which is within walking distance, for very cheap food and sometimes to work, as they have Starlink. The owner was always very responsive and acted quickly when we had any requests. He even got us a desk for working in one of the rooms (now 2/3 rooms have desks); the third is too small for one.

The WiFi didn’t reach the 3rd room in the kitchen area. The fridge wasn’t working super well, but they called a technician very quickly. There were a few power cuts, but they seemed to be area-wide and not something related to the villa. Sometimes you can hear music from parties far away, but never from inside the rooms. At times, we missed having a pool. And we definitely missed having a board rack so we could keep our surfboards properly organised.

The garden was beautiful with plenty of space, and the villa was much bigger than the listing suggests. There were three spacious bedrooms, all with air conditioning, and a well-equipped kitchen. The villa was clean, comfortable, and the family who own it were very kind and nearby at all times if we needed anything.

The shower was quite basic, although it did the job. A few extra basic kitchen supplies would have been helpful, such as olive oil, although salt and pepper were provided.
