Die Lage an der Straße, die ganze Nacht waren LKWs und Motorräder zu hören und das sehr laut. Unser Raum hatte leider etwas Schimmel, aber ich denke das lässt sich bei der Feuchtigkeit da oben nicht verhindern. Leider sprach das Personal kaum Englisch und als wir Abend dort essen wollten, sagte man uns der Koch sei nicht da. In der Nähe ist sonst aber nichts. Das Frühstück war nicht sehr gut.

We had a really enjoyable stay at Kaliningrat Cottage 1. The location is perfect if you’re planning to visit Tumpak Sewu waterfall, as it’s very close and easy to access early in the morning. The views around the property are beautiful, especially of Mount Semeru. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with good air conditioning and hot water. It’s not a luxury place, but everything you need is provided and it feels cosy and well-maintained. What really stood out was the hospitality. The staff and owner were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the stay feel very welcoming and personal. The breakfast was simple but sufficient, and it was convenient to have food available on site. Overall, this is a great value-for-money option, especially for a short stay or if you’re exploring the nearby waterfalls. Highly recommended for travellers who prioritise location, cleanliness, and warm service.

Just be aware: The access is slightly uphill, which might be a bit challenging for some guests. It is next to the main road, so can be noisy.
