Driftwood Heart

Great location, comfortable beds, well kitted out kitchen. We spent most of our time exploring the island so didn't take advantage of some of the site amenities or the great selection of dvds and games in the property, but all the details of the house were well thought out. Great communication from host.

We were here during a heat wave so, sleeping was a challenge but that would have been the same anywhere!

Could not control shower temperature

Beautifully decorated, very tasteful Very clean Furniture was nice Well equipped Coffee machine great but glad we took our own pods as only black coffee left in holder. Host was quick to respond to issues butbunable to help due to closure of office all Easter weekend. Needles great, West Wight Alpacas a must! As is Donkey Sanctuary. Ventnor Botanic Gardens beautiful.

Main issue was chargers for EV were not working. Office closed for Easter so no resolution. Nearby chargers had restricted parking. Ended up spending a lot of time sitting in car parks! Unfortunately, there was nothing the host could do as office shut. He did suggest a couple, but one had parking restriction of 1.5 hrs and other location, only 1 of the 4 chargers was working - again no faultbof his. Just unlucky. It spoiled the week really as reason we chose location was chargers on site. Parking was not as easy as we were led to believe, on arrival day it was difficult to park therefore difficult with unloading car There was a wet grassy slope down to chalet and steps. There were some slabs but unless you had big strides you could not reach them! I was sharing with my mum and had the twin room. No wardrobe/drawers. There was sliding drawers under beds. One was full of owners things .nowhere to put make up etc. Socket for phone was at bottom of bed. My charger does not have standard USB so would not fit in point in socket I was glad I took my own pillows as ones on bed were not great, personal choice as mum thought ok. Bed a little soft for me, again personal taste as I am used to orthopedic mattress. Bathroom cold even thought the towel radiator was scorching hot. Would have been nice to have a full length mirror.

We really enjoyed our stay at Driftwood Heart. The accommodation was very clean and well-equipped. We enjoyed the extra touches - such as the coffee machine! The location was great - with views of the sea from the site and easy access to the coastal path. Freshwater is such a good base for exploring the island. We would love to come back to Driftwood Heart! Thank you Ian and Maria!

The speed humps in the lane to access the site! A minor issue, and they are obviously needed!
