The sunny interior of Great Expectations Destin vacation rental home along with its close proximity to the beach is guaranteed to cure all kinds of ailments because, after all, there isn’t much that vitamin sea can’t fix! The three bedrooms and open living area are decked in rejuvenating coastal tones and cheerful beach-themed decor along with carefully coordinated furnishings. Cool tile floors, a laundry room and a kitchen with breakfast bar overlooking the large dining table along with all the cookware you’ll need ensures Great Expectations has all the necessities of home but with none of the annoyance. With two king bedrooms, a bunkroom and full sofa bed, this home is perfect for multiple families or couples. The primary bedroom features a huge walk-in bathroom with a stand-alone spa tub for soaking and Zen tiled walk-in shower.
Looking for a way to fight off the fatigue of life’s demands? The lush tropical foliage, sun-drenched pool deck and the sound of waves lapping the shore at the beach nearby are just what your immune system needs to combat the stress of day-to-day life. Dine alfresco on the patio and enjoy use of the gas grill complemented by a wicker dining table for four and Ratana dining table for six. Endless memories of playing in the sand and surf, lounging by the community pool- just steps away, or shopping at Destin Commons and Silver Sands Outlet Mall are waiting to be made! As part of the Emerald Shores community, this Destin Vacation Rental enjoys some unique perks. This beach neighborhood is positioned between the main highway through town and the beach road with its spacious walking path providing easy access to the beach via the southern entrance or to the many restaurants and malls along Highway 98 / Emerald Coast Parkway via the northern entrance. Moreover, it’s a well forested community with swaying palms and native foliage that make it any enjoyable walk to one of the two community pools or the beach beyond.
Guests receive a welcome kit with small dishwasher detergent, dish soap, sponge, a roll of paper towels, and laundry detergent. There will be an initial trash liner in each receptacle and a set of toilet paper and soaps for each bathroom provided. Guests will need to replenish supplies for longer stays. In addition to our welcome kit, we also supply basic cooking essentials like salt, pepper, and oil.
Arm Bands are required March- October. Guests must get them from the beach vendor at the pavilion between hours of 10am-4pm, Mon-Sun. If guests arrive after hours, they can pick them up the next day. Arm bands cost $30.00 per reservation and is non refundable.
We require a minimum length of stay during the summer and over holidays.
We do not rent to anyone under 25 or to students. We require 1 parent for every 2 people under 25.

No boats, jetskis, trailers, RVs are allowed- No parking in the cul-de-sac or on the grass- No tents on beach

We stayed here with another couple for 5 nights and it was perfect. Very clean and nicely decorated. It is a little walk to the beach but not too bad. The neighborhood also has a golf cart shuttle to the beach. Quick walk to Dollar General to get supplies. Would stay here again!

Fabulous, spacious, modern house that was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our family of 4 for our week stay at the beach.
Loved that we could grill on the patio in the evenings and eat outside.
Lovely community of different size houses with two pools, tennis court and basketball hoop that our kids enjoyed. Only 10 min walk through the community to the Emerald Shores private beach. We had our own chairs etc for the beach but could have availed of an umbrella and two chairs if we needed. Beautiful, clean beach with toilet facilities and showers.
Ate in the popular local beach bar Kenny D’s one eve - nothing fancy but good food and service - go early to avoid a wait. Also ate in Captain Dave’s - busy spot and good food but more expensive. There was a dollar general store right next door to the community that we could walk to for anything we needed which was very convenient.
Enjoyed lovely walks up towards Destin and admired the amazing homes.
Communication with the property manager was excellent and they contacted us during our stay to make sure all was ok.
Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this house - one of the nicest houses we’ve stayed in on vacation. So glad we found it as our previous host cancelled our Spring Break stay in another area of FL the day before we were due to leave.

I cannot say enough positive remarks about this property and all its amenities! My family which included three generations (4 adults, 5 yr old, almost 1yr old, and my 65 year old ACTIVE mother) had everything we could possibly need. The area offers a Walmart, Publix, Whole Foods, among other chain options within 3 miles. A bonus is a Dollar General neighbors to the property for last minute/forgotten items.
We also loved having the bikes at our disposal, or the luxury of the occasional “lift” on a golf cart to/from the beach area, however if we missed the cart it was an enjoyable stroll. Get ready for white sand and gorgeous colored clear waters.
The pool was RIGHT around the corner, like 40 steps, and refreshing for a quick dip. They even provided a closet with some fun pool toys and floaties for our use. This closet also has some beach fun including a convenient wagon to haul it all. Don’t take too much though because the two chairs and umbrella we were always lucky enough to have access to was so convenient. (Closet also had two tennis rackets for the nearby court if that’s your thing).
My family likes to cook, and I can’t think of anything we didn’t have utensil/dish wise. No spices (salt/pepper) which could be a health/safety thing, but again, dollar general to the rescue easy peasy!
I will say, if you don’t go early, expect waits at local hot spots. We did enjoy a lunch at Fudpuckers, and saw the noon alligator show. This was more informative than entertaining, so don’t feel like you HAVE to wait for the show part if you happen to enjoy a meal there. We also bowled some frames at Uncle Bucks in Destin Commons. We enjoyed playing at the splash pad and kid play area during the 30 min we waited for an open lane. If you want a chilly treat, head to the Yard for a one-of-a-kind milkshake, yum!
My husband and I took a charter boat to Crab Island for a couple hours. This was a great (affordable) option if you don’t want to rent a boat/jet ski for the day. The whole group took a pre booked 11am dolphin tour, there seemed to be plenty, so feel free to book the day before or of. Again, it was a good kid activity and fun to be on a boat, but if you are older (or have older kids) and have the means, renting a boat for a day could be your best bet.
After doing whatever your heart desired during the day you have a clean, cool, comfortable home to relax at. Comfy beds, jacuzzi tub, or curl up with a provided book.
Relaxation was doable!
