High expectations, poor experience.

Arriving by car? Read this! This stay was supposed to be a special last night. It was a complete deception. Not sure why people rate this accommodation. It’s clean and has some nice finishes here and there, but not very good value for money really. Especially in August, this place is awful and the accommodation is in the middle of the tourist trap chaos. This village is not build for thousands of visitors. Prices of EVERYTHING (including this apartment) are through the roof, most food quality is shocking and you get treated rude and unpleasantly everywhere. Which is totally understandable considering the unbelievable invasion. But once you arrive on the day and you cannot cancel your reservation anymore, you go with what you get. We asked for parking recommendations beforehand to the host and he did not reply. This is why: you are not allowed anywhere near the village with your car. After a very long windy road you need to park your car miles out of the village on an overnight carpark. You need to reserve the carpark! We did not as we were not informed, but we were ‘in luck’ and the carpark people found a spot for the night. We paid €25 (I was overcharged) extra and had to leave our car key behind. Then you get dropped by a van on the edge of the village with all your luggage in the heat, only to find your way to the accommodation without internet acces in between thousands of tourist that arrived by train straight of the massive cruiseschip moored in La Spezia. Seriously unpleasantly overwhelming. Why people rate the communication highly for this host , is beyond me. Never received an answer to any of my queries. We don’t mind an adventure, but it would have been nice to know this upfront. We paid extra for the sea view…there is no sea view. You can see the sea but only when we stick your head out of the window. It’s a wall view in reality. See photo. Be warned. I would stay well away. It’s a proper trap.

Mooie locatie, matige kamer.

De ligging van de kamer was prettig. Je kreeg een sleutel voor een aparte ingang van de kamer. De kamer bevond zich aan de achterkant van het pand met zicht op de steeg.

De kamer was zeer klein en erg gehorig. Snachts was er veel lawaai. Daarnaast begonnen de schoonmakers rond half 7 in de ochtend aan hun ronde. Dit was erg goed hoorbaar in de kamer.

Even if I mentioned those things above we’ve had a good stay with Vernazza Main Plaza -Rooms & Suites

The room is in an excellent location, pretty much right at the beach.Great view ,looking down the small harbour of Vernazza.The room is very clean , and ok for a few nights .The check-in process was easy once we’ve found the room .The gentleman who guide us in gave us instructions about the property .Air-con in the room is handy for hot summer days.There’s also WiFi in the room .

What we didn’t like about the room is the bed mattress and communication.My wife and I found the bed quite uncomfortable to sleep on. The other thing would be helpful to give instructions to find the location of the room .Even though as you scroll through the pictures you can find a photo of the room circled in red ,you can sort of guess where it is, but a welcoming message on the day or the day before arrival would be helpful with instructions how to get there .One last thing .There was also no TV channels available while we stayed there .

Cet établissement référencé comme un hôtel n'en est pas un, pas de réception, très compliqué à trouvé. La personne au téléphone mal aimable, la personne qui nous a réceptionné pareil antipathique. Il faut se pencher à la fenêtre pour voir la mer, chambre pas du tout insonorisée, vieille, délabrée. C'est une honte de louer à un tarif aussi élevé!!!

The Vernazza main Plaza non si chiama così ma è una specie di “Francamaria Rooms “ hanno cambiato nome per le recensioni….. la signora molto scortese e sbrigativa, mi ha detto persino che per lo stesso prezzo mi dava la camera vista mare ma dovevo cancellare la prenotazione su Booking. Uno sporco incredibile, capelli ovunque, macchie ovunque, polvere ovunque. Un buco di camera, incastrata in mezzo ad altre vie. Non c’era la possibilità di accendere il termo (avevo tutta la roba bagnata dopo un trekking sotto la pioggia) . Per fortuna una buona doccia calda mi ha scaldata. Impossibile muoversi in questa stanzina minuscola, colazione? Figuriamoci…. Con 149,99€ pretendo una pulizia maggiore … che schifo questi prezzi così esagerati!!!!!!

A Vernazza, le moindre centimètre carré est exploité. Nous avons eu une chambre dans un couloir où pour ouvrir sa valise il n'y avait qu'une seule possibilité, la poser sur le lit. La chambre n'était pas du tout insonorisée. Il n'y avait aucune information à notre disposition, pas de petit déjeuner. Le tout pour un prix exorbitant en basse saison !
