We liked everything

We had a wonderful stay at The Stables, in a beautiful set with accessible pathways to explore. A perfect base to explore Somerset, especially eastern Exmoor and the Quantocks Hills. The house was lovely and very well equipped, the hosts nice and friendly took a great care for our comfort.

A very spacious, modern and clean house with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living/dining area and very well stocked kitchen. The sofa is massive and super comfortable. The property is very well placed to explore Exmoor and Somerset, with forests, beaches and market towns galore within an hour at most. There are some lovely walks from the doorstep and the nearest West Somerset Railway steam train stop (Crowcombe Heathfield, which we took advantage of) is 20 minutes away on foot. Noodle the dog provided a wonderful welcome every time we came back. We didn’t really meet the owners but I want to thank them for the provisions on arrival - a pint of milk, a cake and a bottle of wine :)

Not much really. The bed in the master bedroom is, albeit very comfortable, extremely high; even my 6ft something husband had to hop up onto it. Combine that with the very low beam and two low doorways leading to each bedroom and you have a recipe for a potential headache if you don’t move about upstairs with care. We managed it though.

T
