Nice swimming pool

No information was given to us upon arrival — we were simply handed the keys. The rooms smelled strongly of damp and humidity. The shower gel containers provided in the rooms were empty, and the fridge was not working. There were no restaurants, the bar looked abandoned, and regarding the massage service, no information was provided so we have no idea if it was even available. You can definitely find much better options elsewhere.

All was great in general

This hotel is amazing. It’s attractive point for the interesting people around the world. I met couple of new friends. Pool — that’s great. I love that it pretty deep and wide, so you can even swim a little.

The neighbourhood is a bit annoying to me, because it’s very touristic spot, but hotel is perfect. Also WiFi is not always sustainable.

Great hotel

I stayed there for 2 months. And was really nice experience. Staff are super nice people who always try to help. I really liked garden and pool, that was great. Hotel has perfect location and everything you need is super close.

Great location and good value for money

The location was perfect, walking distance to the beach and all restaurants and shops. Right in the middle of everything in Kuta. The staff is friendly and nice. The swimming pool is nice and clean.

It wasn’t the cleanest, but that doesn’t bother me. You get what you pay for, it’s good value for money. The bathroom was a little bit smelly and the water also smelled funny.

Nothing about this place impressed me

No internet, no staff spoke English. They would acknowledge that they would try to help but they would not actually do anything. Very very annoying and useless staff.

Great quiet long term spot

Great location, walking distance to everything. Cafes & supermarkets really close, beach is a 10min walk away. Excellent, clean pool. Great staff that couldn't do enough for you. The gardens are lovely and makes the area cooler than outside. I stayed in 3 rooms while I was there. Deluxe, face west so can be hot in the afternoon, old bathrooms Room with pool view are really noisy with the air-conditioning system they have here (even with earplugs) & I had to move.... Bottom floor rooms, most expensive but would suggest these if staying long term.

Its called a hotel but it's more like a Guesthouse. Daily cleaning of room happens only if you ask but staff are happy to give fresh towels etc Towels do need updating, thin & stained.

Beautiful quiet hotel

I loved this hotel. Randomly booked it last minute, I was so pleasantly surprised to find this green haven in the middle of Kuta. Fantastic for this price. No sound of cars, motorbikes and bars.. perfect. Lovely owner and staff. I will choose to stay here again when in Kuta area.

It was, in one word, perfect

I really liked many aspects of the property: its garden, pool, and proximity to shopping and restaurants. It was magnificent. It's right in the city center. All our requests were met. Ms. Diah and all the other staff were very attentive and friendly. I felt right at home during this stay. For the price, I recommend it to everyone.

Good place if you want to chill by the pool

I really liked the pool area, and the fact the hotel felt peaceful compared to most of kuta. The room was a nice size and provided a kettle and a fridge which is great. The bathroom had everything I needed. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Very close location to restaurants, massages and other amenities, walkable to the beach.

When I arrived there was no water supply in my room and when it returned after a few hours the water was red/brown for another couple of hours which put me off a bit. I found it difficult to find staff to ask questions to, also they gave a menu out for food and then I was told they weren't making food, which isn't too big of a deal because there are alot of restaurants close by.

Fantastic little treasure

Its a great property, hidden away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were fantastic. The rooms are very basic and old, in need of a really good, deep clean, but comfortable. Was in an upstairs room. When I asked for fresh linen or my room to be cleaned, they were straight onto it, theres no daily housekeeping, but if you ask, you receive. They have other rooms, a little more expensive but refurbished. The pool was nice, the on-site restaurant had delicious food. Ive already booked my next stay there, next month 👍

The upstairs rooms are in desperate need of a make over. The staff, although very friendly and helpful, struggle with the Language barrier, not really a big problem, but something to be aware of.

Fabuolus relaxing stay at New Mekar Jaya Hotel

The beautiful garden in the middle was so lovely, lush and peaceful. The rooms were a great size and having an outdoor deck was perfect. The pool was a good size as well. They also cleaned my room during my stay which I wasn’t expecting.

The bathrooms could probably do with an upgrade.

This is a lovely, restful place within easy walking distance of Legian shopping and Kuta beach.

Amazing location, so close to everything. Beautiful gardens and pool. A small open air cafe near pool which served delicious food very cheaply. Staff are so lovely and helpful. Bed was comfortable and room large and airy. Airconditioning worked very well.

The pool is really fantastic. The place also is nice, outside the room. The location.

The room!!! I was in a old building compare to new ones just before. My god, old, seems not clean, the shower where there is no hot shower !!!! The thing to charge your phone not working. Just one in all the room so be prepare to have battery charge. The people working there talk really loud in the morning.

It was filthy dirty! Toilet was mouldy. Room was extremely old and worn! No one cleaned the rooms or changed towels or linen the whole stay. Hot water worked sporadically, majority of mornings it was cold!

Excellent and worth coming

The location is good and there are nice cafes nearby(really convenient for digital nomad),and the pool is clean and beautiful, I quite enjoy using it. The staff at the hotel were extremely warm and thoughtful，they help me carry my luggage down and up the stairs and call a grab taxi.

There's an odor in the toilet，but turning on the exhaust fan can dispel it

Lovely staff, feels homey.

Great location and very accommodating staff which helped us with our rooms. Even offered a room change when we were not satisfied with the initial room. Many lovely cats around the property.

Didn’t have stable towel hangers, so we kept having to change them after they fell. Furthermore the water was dirty, at one point there was brown water coming out but staff resolved it within minutes.

The location is great, it's close to everything, also the pool area is nice. When I asked for a hairdryer, they broutght it to my room within 5 minutes. Someone is always there, you can ask for help, but some situations can't be solved. The staff are very helpful though. There is a fridge in the room and the aircon works very well.

It is a very run-down hotel, not clean and not maintained at all, everything was broken in my bathroom, room was dirty, the surfaces were obviously not cleaned after the last guest before I arrived. Bed linen not clean either.

Don't waste your money - look around!

I liked absollutelly nothing good about this place.

I stayed here for over a week, and not once was my room properly cleaned. When I first checked in, there was trash under the bed (a cookie package and other small items), no toilet paper, and the soap and shampoo dispensers were completely empty. I asked the staff three times to clean my room — all they ever did was change the bedding and provide a single towel. The trash under the bed was still there when I checked out. The worst part was the smell coming from the bathroom — it was like something rotten was stuck in the pipes. It made the whole room unpleasant. The room also wasn’t quiet at all. There were decorative holes above the doors and windows, so you couldn’t really close the room off or block the outside noise. It felt like I was sleeping outside. There were no other young travelers staying there, and while the location was okay, it was not very convenient. You have to walk around the block every time to get to the beach, stores, or restaurants. I’ve traveled to many islands and stayed in a lot of different places during my 4-month trip around Indonesia. This hotel was by far the worst. There are many better and even cheaper options nearby. I would not recommend staying here.

Not worth it

The location is central and you can walk to almost everything in Kuta

I arrived and the receptionist took me to a part of the hotel that’s very old, I opened the room and a strong smell was all over the place, the toilet was not cleaned properly, no water and no phone to call the desk and very moldy. I went downstairs to ask if they could clean the toilet so they transferred me to another room. In the new room I had a fridge but the pipes wouldn’t work, I called the receptionist because the sink on the shower doesn’t go down, they didn’t fix it. I had to ask 3 times for a bottle of water. The pool was extremely oily and dirty, you could see that they haven’t do maintenance in a long time. The facilities in general look way better in pictures but the place doesn’t look like that. I think around the hotel there’s people living because I saw few rooms with families living in it. When I asked to the manager if she could report it to Booking or give me my money back because they were not cleaning my room she said I had to report it and she will return my money, I had many conversations with Booking and they were no help. I paid over €100 for a week in this place and was NOT WORTH IT. I booked it because I wanted to have a nice place with a pool, I got played.
