Great location, clean room with everything we needed. Ear plugs was a lovely touch along with the Handmade Soap company toiletries.

The James Hotel is truly gorgeous. The attention to detail is next level - from the decor (exceptional wood panelling) to the facilities, ear plugs and sleep spray for your pillow. Stunning bathroom. Excellent food. Perfect location. I can’t fault it!

Great location lovely decor in bedrooms and very helpful and friendly receptionist

The breakfast was way overpriced - I ordered avocado toast with poached eggs . The avocado was in a tiny white dish and looked and tasted like it was from a bottle it was not smashed or sliced - I have eaten avocado toast so so many times as my go to breakfast when eating out and never had it served like this . I complained as questioned why it was served on a consistency like mayonaise and was told “it is fresh we put it into a blender and it’s blended smooth “… Well either that is done to use way less avocado or it wasn’t fresh … it was not nice at all and after paying 16 euro for a tiny miniature little thing of it I felt scammed !!! Expected much better for the price

I liked that the rooms were so quiet and I had a peaceful sleep there, the reception staff were very jolly and polite

I didn't like the fact that I was worried about using any of the soaps etc because there was a silly note saying if the bottles were taken they were assuming I bought them and the bottles of product were near empty already so I didn't want to get charged for using them completely! Big let down for a supposedly prestigious hotel, abit scabby to be fair 🤔

Good location

One of the Worst Hotel Experiences – Avoid at All Costs! I rarely leave reviews, but after the night we had, I feel obligated to warn others. We paid €200 for a room that couldn’t even provide the bare minimum you’d expect from a budget hotel, let alone a hotel charging that much. First off, when we arrived, there was only one toilet roll, already half-used. Basic hygiene clearly isn’t a priority here. Then came the shower, which was barely lukewarm at best — definitely not hot, no matter how long we let it run. After a long day, that was the last thing we needed. We complained to the front desk, and the manager’s response was to offer us a free drink. Apparently, they went back to the room and claimed the water was working fine, which honestly felt like a way of brushing us off instead of addressing the issue. To be charged €200 for a room with subpar amenities and disrespectful service is insulting. I’ve stayed in budget hostels that were better equipped and more customer-focused. Would I stay here again? Absolutely not. I’d rather sleep in my car.

Excellent hotel with excellent staff and perfect location

As a couple, we have stayed in hotels in all of the 32 Counties (our bucket list). This hotel is one of the best. Excellent from start to finish. The location was central to bars, restaurants and shops. Eimear the hotel Manager went above and beyond her duties to ensure our stay was exceptional. Chocolates on arrival with a bottle of water, ear plugs, sleep spray and beautiful hand made toiletries. When we came back 1 day, there was 2 Easter Eggs waiting. The next day there was a plate with small deserts and a Happy Anniversary written in chocolate,2 small bottles of Gin and tonic and an ice bucket. We were also given 2 complimentary glasses of Prosecco with our dinner. The food in both the bar and the restaurant was beautiful. We ate there all 3 nights. Ellen and Michaela were exceptional with their customer service at Breakfast which was also beautiful. The hotel was extremely clean with a lift to all floors. I can’t thank the staff enough and I highly recommend this hotel to stay in when you visit Tralee. 👍

Great stay in the centre of Tralee

Lovely stay right in the middle of town. Eimer looked after us right from arrival making sure we had everything we needed. Room was big, clean and modern. Handmade Irish sodas were a nice touch. And simple thing of a big bottle of water in the room. Breakfast was efficient and tasty.

Happy with our stay.

Major issue was parking. No parking provided and public car park too far away particularly if it is wet, bringing cases and clothing to the hotel in the wet is not acceptable. Choice of breakfast limited. No fresh fruit of fresh juice (juice was not natural it was processed) All in all the staff were excellent. the room and en-suite were excellent cleanliness absolute excellent.
