Review Royal Bird We have just returned from a fabulous stay at the Royal Bird Villa in Kalyves The villa is stunning , super modern with great amenities , outdoor pool , barbecue area with amazing views , the hosts Holiways offer a concierge service where they offer check in and check out , cleaning services , gardening and pool maintenance during our visit . Inside the large open modern lounge , kitchen downstairs bathroom with shower and twin bedroom Downstairs a gym , washing machine tumble dryer and sauna And the top level has 3 bedrooms all sea views with balconies and en suites The location is fab , although it’s a 10 min walk down a rather steep hill down to the sea and bars etc it’s fine if your fit and well , the climb up is much harder going but fortunately there is a taxi rank There are some great bars and eateries I would recommend Simon’s have a fabulous selection of wines , there is a great gyros bar only 4 euro for a chicken and fries gyros The bakery beside the Pripis supermarket has grest pastries , bread and cakes We also visited Provolita Mythos taverna , Kohili beach bar Akrogiali taverna , Taverna Pandesia We booked a super boat trip with Kalyves cruises , and hired a private chef for a special evening celebrating my 50th birthday All in all we’ve had a wonderful stay and had an extra bonus of the owner bringing us a delicious homemade moussaka

I was lucky to come across this property when it had recently been added to Booking.com. Since staying there I feel it is only right to come and leave a review to help tell others how amazing this villa is. I booked this villa to accommodate 8 of us which eventually became 9. It can fit everyone nicely while feeling like each room can have its own bit of privacy. Full bathrooms are available for each room as well as one downstairs in the basement/gym area. The views from the property & 3 coast facing balconies are simply amazing, let alone the view from the pool level. Each day I aimed to take advantage of the pool which is a perfect size and refreshing. There are enough sunbeds to have everyone outside at once while comfortably being to swim and then lounge in the sun. The driveway fits 2 x 5 seater cars and you have your own remote gated entry. The lounge/kitchen area of the villa is spacious and open plan with airy sliding doors for access to the outdoor eating area/bbq & pool. Vasilis the property manager communicates with you clearly, he let me know when to expect the cleaner + gardeners & he was also very helpful in providing details about the private chef the villa offers (This is an absolute must when staying here!). We used the chef for one of the nights & it was a lovely local husband and wife team who cooked us a delicious Crete style menu. I am not the best at writing reviews nor summarising everything but let me leave you with this, if you're planning to stay on this part of the island, the villa is a must! Me & my friends left Crete with amazing memories that we won't forget, this villa is definitely a big part of those memories.

Only downside is you must be aware of the neighbours (only one neighbour on the left), we did listen to a lot of music outside & found out we did receive a complaint however the neighbours never approached us! - the lack of complete isolation was only a minor inconvenience as you're near amenities only a 2 minute drive away.

The highlight, of course, is the private swimming pool, where I spent countless hours basking in the sun and taking refreshing dips to escape the heat. However, what truly sets the Royal Bird Villa apart is the exceptional hosting provided by the staff. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that made me feel like royalty. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my every need was met, whether it was arranging transportation, recommending local attractions, or simply ensuring that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. In conclusion, my time at the Royal Bird Villa was nothing short of magical. From the luxurious accommodations to the impeccable service, every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations. Whether you're looking for a romantic retreat or a relaxing getaway with friends and family, I cannot recommend the Royal Bird Villa highly enough. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
