About this villa rental
The Villa is a magnificent villa, in Tsivaras, Ideally situated near the highly popular Kalivas and Almyrida. There many restaurants, cafe and shops in Kalivas and its sandy beach front is 20 minutes walk away. The Almyrida village centre is easily accessed by a short 5 minute drive where to find blue flag child friendly beach, many restaurants, cafes and a wide selections of village facilities. Located 20 minutes drive from Chania, 30 minutes from Rethymnon, providing the perfect base from which to explore the other areas of the island. The large heated private swimming pool features wide Roman steps for easy gentle access with a Jacuzzi seating area. The villa also offers a fantastic rock garden with seating areas, ideal for those seeking solitary moments with a most wonderful view. There are parking area for three cars.

We spent 2 fantastic weeks in Wendy’s property outside Kalyves. Villa is stunning, photos do not do it justice. Communications with Wendy were answered quickly and the whole booking went smoothly and without any hitches.A car is a must, Kalyves is too far to walk to and return journey is up a steep hill. Also Crete itself is beautiful and requires further investigation so a car is essential.All in all a fantastic holiday topped off by a 5 star villa.

We had a lovely holiday staying in Wendy’s Villa. The beds were very comfortable , great large swimming pool and lovely bbq area. Wendy was an excellent host and responded quickly to any minor issues. It’s very well located close to Almyrida with lots of great tavernas, beach etc. Hope to come back next year - we loved it!

The check in process was great, Wendy shared across the details well in advance and answered any questions we had before and during the stay really promptly and tried to help as much as possible with the couple of issues we had.The pool is a great size and the few bits there when we arrived (basket ball, bat and ball, lilo) we are a great bonus. As mentioned on other feedback there were hornets by the pool whilst we were there due to the heat and their seeking out of water, whilst initially very concerning, they were absolutely fine and harmless. The villa was even better than it's photos online in real life and the 3 balconies and stunning sunset views are breathtaking! The 5th bedroom really is very small, it does say online it is just a sofa bed, but when it is out, there is little other room in the room and it would only suit small children, not teenagers. Some items could do with an update and more stable WiFi but in the main, it is a great quality home for the week with everything you could need. We ate in the villa on two nights and there was ample equipment for 8 of us to BBQ. We hired a car for the week, which was ideal for exploring as alot to see within 30 mins drive of the villa, highly recommend the Aptera ruins, Lake Kouras and some time in Chania - which some great beaches and towns less than 5 mins drive away. Unfortunately we couldn't find anything we felt we could walk to safely as mentioned in the description. Fantastic week and would return!

While the house and location was great, our family was not able to use the pool the entire week because of a bee infestation. There were no less than 30plus bees in the grates all around the pool. The owner Wendy is responsive and tried to remedy the situation but it did not work. The remedy was using fish guts as bait scattered around the pool which then flew into the pool. Also tried a toxic spray that was left for us to do ourselves. Unfortunately that put a major damper on the trip as the pool area was one of the reasons we chose the house. There were also no blankets and were told they only supply flat sheets so with air conditioning it was uncomfortably cold to sleep and we had to use towels. The location is close to many beaches and sites but is not walkable at all since it’s high on the mountain.
