Don't miss this! If we could give 10-plus rating we would. Just an unbelievably wonderful stay. This converted farmhouse is located in the middle of the owner's vineyard. Literally have to travel a few turns on the narrow tractor road between vines. Once there, we settled in for a very relaxing stay. Views forever of vineyards, the Douro River, passing trains and small river cruise boats. The two rooms were very comfortable with soft linens and fluffy pillows. A sitting area, dining table, outdoor veranda and pool completed the setting. We took our coffee overlooking the peaceful valley. Paulo delivered breakfast every morning -- fresh baked goods, meats, cheeses, fruits. So delicious! It was a easy drive to attractions - highly recommend the Wine Museum! We jumped on the train and took lunch in another town. In the evenings, we drank wine from the pay as you go bar stocked with Paulo's wines. So amazing! We are recommending to our friends and would love to make a return trip ourselves.
I didn't like that we had to return home....

The location was in the middle of a vineyard with incredible views of the Douro River valley! Paulo and his son, Joao were excellent hosts and provided everything we could have needed. Breakfast was delivered the following morning by Paulo and was enough food for 5 people!
