4 Bedrooms Pool Firepit 8 Guests Hacienda Pinilla

The house was beautiful, spacious, and we really enjoyed Hacienda Pinilla. While the home is lovely, it does need some improvements to earn 5 stars. Namely, the house fell short on kitchen tools needed for at home cooking, pool pump/filter didn't work properly leading to an unclean pool, and we had slow sink drains/insufficient hot water in the primary bathroom shower. All in all, a lovely home but some needs some help with the finer points.

Property was well kept, attractive and functional. Nearby access to plenty of activities and beaches. Good communication with host.

The location/area is great. Not far from many of the sites we wanted to visit. The house itself was perfect for us. Clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the AC was great as some places do not have that.

The Good: lots of space w fully equipped kitchen, cable TV, great terrace, pool area, parking, laundry room and safe neighborhood. Owner provided an abundance of towels and cleaning supplies. Home is located w/in a 5 min drive to Mansita & Avellanas beach & JW Guanacaste. Great walking trails where you are practically guaranteed to see howler monkeys!!! We highly recommend the drive to Las Catalinas! For a full day at Danta Beach. Closer to home dinner Al fresco at Diriá restaurant is a must while watching the sunset at Tamarindo beach.The not so good: home is listed as a 4 bedroom, but the 4th bedroom is super tiny and it’s outside the home next to the pool. You literally have to step outside to use the bathroom. So really a 3 bedroom. The shower head in MB is clogged w hard water and it sprays in all kinds of directions. The sinks in MB are semi clogged and drained super slowly. WIFI is iffy. If you’re planning to work remotely, prepare to have connectivity issues. The pool needed cleaning- we went a few days w/out being able to use it bc the water was looking greenish. Highly recommend renting a car - there’s nothing w/in walking distance. The road leading to Hacienda Pinilla was a complete mess - at one point it was asphalt but that was prolly a while back. Giant potholes on a gravel dusty road that slows traffic to a crawl just when you’re dying to get to your destination!
