Clean, tranquil, relaxing and will return!

The staff were incredible. Communication was so easy - initially via booking.com messages and then via WhatsApp. The team at J4 are so helpful, cheerful and just fantastic. Our flight was delayed by 3 hours and they still stayed around to greet us, go through the room facilities, ensure our keys worked and make us feel welcome. We stayed in the one bedroom villa, villa number one, and it was so beautiful and tranquil. Everything was clean, and we loved how you get a separate building for the kitchen and lounge, and another building for the bedroom and bathroom suite with your very own private pool nestled in between. The villas are very spacious, have cupboards to hang your clothes, areas to tuck away your suitcase, a desk, full length mirror and a large vanity with shelves for your toiletries. The pool is the perfect temperature and has two sun lounges under an umbrella for the most perfect relaxation. Most importantly, we had the absolute honour to have Lilly, the villa cat, stay with us for a few nights. She is a beautiful small tortoiseshell girl who is very chatty and loves Sheba cat food. If you have the pleasure of meeting her during your stay, please buy her some food from the local shops. She is such a sweetheart and made being away from our own cats a bit easier, but harder when saying goodbye. The location is also great. It's about a 10min to the start of the beach walk, where I ventured most mornings to have breakfast at the Beach Cafe (I recommend the pesto scrambled eggs). Or you can walk the other direction and explore all the way to the main shopping street (Jl. Danau Tamblingan). The beach walk is kept exceptionally clean by all the vendors and the water is crystal clear. Near the J4 Villas, we recommend getting massages at Bebek Cottage Sanur (Jl. Pengembak), which is about 3min walk. Laundry can be done on the same street, a bit further up. We also recommend Barbarossa Sanur which is a great little pizza shop up just before the highway.

Pictures of villa not accurate. So disappointed. Not a relaxing stay.

Comfy bed and hot shower.

Pool tiles had mould everywhere. Mould on bedroom ceiling. Bathroom vanity stained and bath also stained and dirty. Kitchen bench dirty and stained. Bedroom curtains needed washing.

Had a wonderful time, can’t complain!

Everything was perfect. Pool was clean, lovely design and functional kitchen. They even surprised us with a birthday wish on our bed! Bed was so comfortable and the aircond worked well for a cosy night’s sleep.

The location was far to get around but Gojek and Grab made it easy. They could improve a bit on the cleaning and the living room couch might need a bit of upkeep. Kitchen could do with a maintenance of cookware and no salt and pepper were provided.

We stayed here last year and absolutely loved it. After coming back unfortunately it’s lost its touch, the villa is quite rundown and cleaning needs improvement. Staff was lovely and accommodating

Lovely quiet location

The villa is large and spacious, close to the beach and the start of the Sanur boulevard, easy walking distances to the bars and restaurants.

Needed a few more kitchen supplies as they didn’t cater for breakfast lunch or dinner. For example glassware which we bought and left in the villa.

Amazing private villa in a quiet area

Lovely place with a private swimming pool, outdoor chilling area (tv with Netflix!), spacious bathroom, and comfortable bed. The staff is super helpful and friendly, communicated well via booking.com chat or later via whatsapp once we checked in. Extra bed for a child was set up on request (at extra cost). Daily cleaning was also provided. The place was amazing, we stayed for 5 days and I wish we could stay longer.

It's a good 10-15 minute walk from cafes and shops (there are a couple of food spots closer, but generally you'll have to walk for more options) and the beach. Especially if you're travelling with children - keep this in mind. It's just outside of lively areas of Sanur, but it also makes it very quiet and relaxing. Taxis (Grab/Bluebird) are easy to order and it makes it very easy to get around.

It’s in a quiet and convenient location close to the beach. The street outside is nice and wide.

I guess I was a little bit disappointed that there was only four pieces of cutlery in the kitchen, no teabags and not even a kettle. There is no art on the walls and overall it’s really showing its age given that it’s only two years old.

Beautiful modern villa, situated in a quite street, a close walk to the beach and the boardwalk.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa and it was lovely and peaceful. It had a great layout and both rooms had their own outdoor bathrooms. The beds were very cufortable and the bedrooms were very spatious. The bathrooms were nice and had an outdoor shower. The villa was modern and decorated nicely. The pool was great and we enjoyed laying on the comfortable loungers, watching the amazing kites fly over the villa each afternoon. The villa is only a short walk down to the beach and Sanur boardwalk. We ventured out both nights and walked the boardwalk and had dinner at the Bamboo Beach Bar and watched a traditional Balineese dance show. On the second night we had a delicious meal at Costa by Monsta.

There wasn't much not to like. Probably the only thing would be the level of cleaning. When we arrived I noticed there was a lot of hair over the bedroom floors and bathroom. So clearly it hadn't been vacuumed or mopped very throughly. Also the couch looked like it needed a good clean.

J4 Villas Sanur

We liked to pool, the set out of the rooms Boys running the place tried to be helpful and did much anything we asked, and they looked after our gear for a few hours on our last day, which was good

Lack of equipment in the kitchen i got the impression it was a fully usable kitchen but it wasnt as lots of things missing, toaster didn't work, air conditioning in 1 bedroom didn't work well and ours leaked water all over table in bedroom. The bathroom had hair all among the stones, and the toilet still had excrement in it around the top of the bowl from previous visitors, which I found a bit disgusting. When we got back from a walk all hot and sticky there was a note to say we couldn't swim for an hour as they had put chlorine in the water, this would have been more sensible putting it in at night when we wouldn't need to use the pool. I got eaten alive by mosquitoes in our room overnight. There were coils in the cupboard, but we had no lighter, so a bit of management around coming in and lighting them at night for guests would have been helpful. The villas are also a bit far from shops, etc, quite close to the beach to access the walkway but quite a walk to the cafes and restaurants at the beach

Great for a retreat stay

Very nice spacious private villa with private pool in peaceful location and close to the beach. The design is great, comfortable bed and a large water filter for hot or cold water. Very helpful and friendly staff. Also great view of the huge kites flying every day

It was a bit remote from eateries and shops etc. so a fair hike without transport. Great place if you have scooters or car. Granted, we were always able to get a taxi when needed It would have been nice : to watch tv in the air conditioned bedroom ; and to have some back cushions at the outside seating area ; And the internet for WiFi calls wasn’t the greatest.

Amazing villa

One of my favourite villas I’ve stayed at in Bali! Felt so luxurious having the beautiful open roof bathroom and a private pool. Will definitely come back here again - and the location is perfect, slightly out of the hustle and bustle but a quick walk and you’re there with heaps to do, massages, restaurants, shopping, activities. Only a 1 minute walk to Warung memeri restaurant, which has delicious local food.

Disappointing Stay at a Well-Located Villa in Sanur

The villa in Sanur had a great location and looked good in pictures, but the reality was different.

Upon arrival, we found the place very dirty, with hair all over the floor—at least eight strands per square meter. It wasn’t clean at all. We had issues with the air conditioning. While the staff did respond, the person who came to help wore a beauty face mask, which felt unprofessional and strange. The 'dining table' was really strange. They put a very high table and small, low chairs. Very uncomfortable to eat this way.... We were very unhappy with our stay and checked out the next morning at 9:30. With no one in the office, we left the key on the desk and moved to another villa in the area.

Enjoyed our stay at J4 Villas, especially the sun soaked pool.

The Pool at the Villa got great sun exposure during the day, so it maintained that lovely tempered tropical temperature that allowed you laze around or sit in the water for long periods, even at night, so this was a major draw card at this Villa for me! (I hate cold pools). Easy walk to the end of the street to access Mertasari Beach where there were lots of old basic Warungs, kite surfers and locals flying huge kites, some up to 30 or 40 metres long. This area also accessed a great beach walking/bike path that apparently goes right up to Sanur Beach and passes by the international hotels, where you can access some of their bars and cafes along the walk. You can also hire push bikes. Lots of Taxi's and ride share car and bike service vehicles in the immediate area, so never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for transport. It was a 1 kilometer flat walk (15 min max) to the local area for shops, good restaurants, cafes, good warungs and bars - or for those who are comfortable jumping on the back of a scooter a quick 2 or 3 minute ride. We did use the local car share ride a few times, especially at night and it only cost about $1.00 but always gave them extra for the convenience.

The bed was extremely hard (this is my personal opinion, as their is probably as many people out there who love a hard bed) so I did not sleep well. Also the outdoor sitting area was a sunken area with cushions on a concrete bench style seating with no back support, which I found uncomfortable. (see photos) The island bench in the kitchen area also had normal seats so they were too low to sit comfortable at the bench. The main area of Sanur (if you really wanted to go there) for a wider range of dining, cafes, bars, as well as the night markets was a 10 minute drive, costing approximately 3 or 4,000 IDR ($3 to $4 australian dollars)
