Lovely unique place

Toilets were compost toilets but they were kept clean and changed regularly. Location was very central and close to beach

Amazing eco friendly accommodation

I loved the property and how eco friendly it is. From the compost toilet to making sure the crabs and all other animals can live here peacefully. The staff is really friendly and you have access to filtered water. The rooster was my favorite, he will come up to you and let you pet him. The kitchen is big and had all necessities. I would definitely recommend this place!

Serene and raw nature in the heart of the town!

Of all my hostal and hotel stays, this was my favourite. To be about a block off the main street (calle Rinconcito) and yet feel like you’re in a serene nature reserve, was quite the precious surprise. To walk in over the mangrove…you encounter the crabs and the bird song…and yes, there is a rooster. It’s fine. He made me laugh a lot! I felt very comfortable here - even in a tent! It was the most comfortable mattress I had my whole trip! I felt safe and secure and very much comfortable to have my needs met. I really did love the intentionality of the place. The kitchen is great and the compost toilet is easy and clean. Wifi is stable. Can’t wait to go back! Gracias Corazón Mazunte por mantener ese lugar tan precioso!

Tents are small, no much air & noisy

Close to the beach

We stayed in the camping tent, which was very small—if you’re tall, you won’t be able to lie down properly. The mattress was uncomfortable, sagging, and sinking into the wooden platform underneath. The tent is not waterproof, so if it rains, you’re out of luck. It’s also placed right in the middle of the entrance corridor, meaning people are constantly walking past, and the floor shakes with every step. There’s no proper air circulation, and whatever little air moves at night carries the smell of the dry compost toilets, which spreads everywhere. We stayed for two nights, and the bathrooms never smelled fresh—the odor travels quickly and lingers. For what it offers, the tent should cost half the price. Additionally, it’s right next to bars and restaurants, with loud music playing until 3 AM. If the price were $6 per night, we wouldn’t have complained, but at $18, it’s simply not worth it. Locals have inflated their prices way too much.

Different....

The bungalow was sweet and there was a nice private deck with a very handsome rooster that I enjoyed. I enjoyed watching the crabs and cats wandering in the mangroves.

I felt as if there were too many people sharing the composting toilet and it made it kinda grody. It was near a couple of bars so I could hear two different musics at once.

Lovely stay, very immersed in nature and eco friendly.

It was lovely to be immersed in nature, and still have access to a kitchen. Very homey vibes, the woman who works there brings her children over and she is lovely. Lots of wild life, cool birds butterflies, crabs, chickens, cats, squirrels, and cool bugs.

I wish the tent was a little bit more secluded.

Mágico, Ecológico y buena vibra.

Es un lugar mágico, pues es una reserva ecológica que cuida la conservación del cangrejo mazunte en un manglar, es el único lugar que queda en la zona con esta finalidad.. por ende las personas que conocerás son personas con un corazón súper bonito, energía bonita y puedes sentirte segura y tranquila. El baño es seco, yo ya los conocía y es cómodo ( para los que no los conozcan ) La playa de rinconcito está a 3 minutos caminando y es una playa genial para poder nadar en el mar,,, el mar de Oaxaca es muy fuerte en general y no puedes nadar en cualquier lugar … pero ese lugar es perfecto, arena suave. Mazunte es una zona muy turística, muchas tiendas, restaurantes y bares… pero entrando a Casa Corazón te desconectas de todo eso, por eso me gustó. Sergio siempre fue súper atento y buena onda, tiene un corazón súper bonito y me llevo a un amigo, cuando regrese a Mazunte seguro le vuelvo a escribir. Llegar a Corazón Mazunte es aportar con el proyecto, con las personas que viven y trabajan ahí para la conservación del cangrejo, es realmente hermoso y solo vi ahí el cangrejo mazunte … vale la pena
