Cosy, recently upgraded cottage in central Keswick’s conservation area, a short flat walk from shops, cafés and restaurants. Refurbished March 2026, now with an additional en suite bathroom for added comfort and flexibility.. Ground Floor:

Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet
First Floor:
Bedroom 2: Double (4ft 6in) Bed Ensuite: Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included.. Enclosed courtyard with garden furniture. On road parking. No smoking or e-cigarettes. Please note: There is a turning staircase to the first floor.. Welcome to Pitcairn Cottage, a charming, fully double-glazed Lakeland stone cottage built in 1892, offering a comfortable and practical base in central Keswick. The recent upgrade, including the addition of an en suite bathroom on the first floor, makes the cottage particularly well-suited to small groups and families.
Located on a quiet residential street just off the town centre, you can leave the car behind and explore Keswick on foot. Shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets are all within a short walk, along with Derwentwater and a wide range of outdoor activities.
Keswick is a vibrant Lakeland market town with plenty to see and do. There are two supermarkets within walking distance, along with parks offering children’s play areas, mini-golf, tennis and weekly parkruns. Indoor attractions such as the Theatre by the Lake, the Retro Zone Museum, Puzzling Place and the Derwent Pencil Museum are also close by.
Nearby Derwentwater offers lakeside walks, boat hire and beautiful scenery. The area is ideal for walking, running and cycling, with routes from the door including Cat Bells, Skiddaw and Latrigg.
For days out further afield, visit Bassenthwaite Lake and The Lake District Wildlife Park (approx. 8 miles), or The Lakes Distillery for tours and tastings. The beach at St Bees and the city of Carlisle are both just under an hour away.
This property can also be booked together with the adjacent Pitcairn House (UK41255) to accommodate up to 18 guests, subject to availability.
Please note: The staircase to the first floor is slightly narrow and has a tight turn.

Beds very comfortable, draught from lintel/upstairs bedroom window. Enjoyed the ginger biscuits. Very close to shops and restaurants.Overall a most enjoyable holiday.
