Most romantic cottage in Suffolk - Number Four

The location was perfect and a very short walk to the town centre. The property was immaculate and well equipped. The sofa and bed were both VERY comfortable.

The stairs were very awkward and the outside space was nothing like the photos - a small table in a small courtyard accompanied by at least 8 rubbish/recycling bins - hardly "the most romantic cottage in Suffolk" style. The worst thing though was dealing with Booking.com. We responded to the price quoted on Booking.com website and gave our credit card details. No refunds were available - but then the owner told us the price on Booking.com was wrong (I had no problem with that tbh) and he couldnt honour the deal. He was unable to cancel the booking and I was told to cancel the payment - but couldnt see a way of doing this. So rather than risk losing about £350 I actually negotiated with the owner and paid the difference - What really irks me is that if I hadnt chosen/been able to do this the contract would have been frustrated and I guess Booking.com would have refused a refund and I would have had to use section 25 on my credit card. That is shocking! Equally shocking is comparing the price of booking this property on Booking.com and another agency - approximately 75% more expensive!

Basic amenities weren’t the best. Brown tap water the whole time we stayed, toilet and sink both leaked as well as no toilet roll in the house. We had to go and buy toilet roll and water. Nothing major but when you’re paying in the region of £130 per night, you would expect these basic things to be taken care of.
