Very clear instructions for check-in and key pickup. The room is super small, but very clean, practical and well organised. The cabinet bed pulls out from the furniture and was surprisingly comfortable — I slept very well. The kitchen is well equipped and has pretty much everything you might need for a short stay. There were also all the basic essentials — salt, pepper, other spices, oil, tea, coffee, etc. — which was a really nice touch. The location is amazing! Just a few steps from the town centre and only a few minutes’ walk from the Château and the starting points for walks and hikes in the forest. The apartment is very quiet. During the day you occasionally hear some noise from the building, but at night it is extremely peaceful and quiet, so sleeping is very easy. I really appreciated the very clean towels, which is unfortunately quite rare nowdays! So BIG plus for this! I would definitely rent this place again as a solo traveller. I would especially recommend it to solo travellers coming to Fontainebleau for hiking, the Château and exploring the town.

The room is quite cold and humid, as it is on the ground floor in a shaded part of the building. There is a noticeable smell of dampness, and there are visible signs of humidity in the bathroom, including some mould around the shower and sink. There is heating in the apartment, which helps warm the room. There are no curtains. If you want natural daylight, you have to open the shutters, but then you are completely exposed to the outside. If you want privacy, you have to keep the shutters closed, which makes the room very dark. Curtains or some kind of privacy screen would really improve the room. The bathroom is very small and the ceiling/space is a little low for taller people (I am 183 and I had to mind my head). The kitchen could use a few additional basic utensils. I missed a ladle when making soup and a spatula for making eggs. The room is underneath the building’s staircase, so you can hear people walking up and down the stairs. It wasn’t a major issue for me, but it is something to be aware of. The room is perfect for one person, but I think two people would find it quite crowded.

Non c'era un tavolo con le sedie dove sedersi a mangiare. Anche pieghevoli. In 2 era decisamente scomodo.
