A bit of history!
The Porte de Bourgogne is located at the end of the former Salinières moat, now the Cours Victor-Hugo (formerly Rue des Fossés), on the site of the former medieval Porte des Salinières. It marks the city's official entrance on the ancient road leading to Paris. Tourny wanted it to accompany the Place Royale (now Place de la Bourse), and consecrated it to Prince Monseigneur le Duc de Bourgogne on January 24, 1757.
For a time, it was the Porte Napoléon to celebrate the Emperor's arrival in Bordeaux in 1808.
Public transport :
- At the foot of the apartment, "Place de Bourgogne" tramway stops A, C and D.
- Self-service bicycles: Vcub station 50m away (1.60e for 24 h)

Le Victor Hugo "🙂 Friendly and nice person met us :)
Clean appartments. Cozy sleeping area. Comfortable bed. Air conditioner. Well equipped kitchen, new fridge and microwave.
🙁 Poor wifi. Bathroom was not comfortable, especially sink and shelves on wheels. Awful smell in the common corridor."

Le Victor Hugo The location is great, we barely had to take any transportation and there’s great restaurants around. There are many places to visit in walkable distance, and basic amenities are provided. The apartment matches the pictures and features everything needed for a short stay. However, the walls are very thin, it almost feels like our neighbours are in the same apartment. We felt a little exposed. Also, there’s somewhat of a weird smell in the corridor and it was dusty in the apartment.
