Tina's place

Stayed for one night. The apartment was clean and check-in was convenient. The only downside was that the staircase noise carries a lot — when someone comes in at night, it feels like they’re entering your apartment. Other than that, we had a good stay.

Where do I start? I hardly EVER say this about ANY place but this really feels like a home from home. Tina made her place look, and feel, like a fairy tale little cottage from one of your gran’s fireplace stories. No surprise when you learn that she is actually a designer/architect who renovated this 1900s heritage home on her own. Most of the antique furniture she collected from yard sales, some beautiful items she bought on Sunday markets, and the cupboards were fully designed and handmade by herself. I, for one, appreciate vintage design to no end, and every detail in this place fills my heart with nostalgic warmth. And oh the bed — SO COMFORTABLE like you wouldn’t believe! Puts my own bed to shame. Had some of the best sleeps there of my life (having sleep disorder for 2 years now). And Tina says it’s just regular foam mattress. I don’t know HOW she finds items this exquisite. And real plants! Everywhere. You can always trust someone who grow their plants this beautifully. Frankly I hated to leave. In the short span of a few days my brain tricked itself into believing I had lived here all my life. And collecting my luggage felt like going AWAY. (Location is great too, you can walk most anywhere.) Note: Tina has two listings. They are in the same house, one upstairs one downstairs. If you had heavy luggage, better choose downstairs. They are both quaint and exquisite. Wish I could add more photos.

The bed was comfortable. It was a quiet area. Easy access. convenient distance from downtown.

getting food was a bit far.
