The room needed some overall attention (some small repairs and some paint) but was definitely clean (linens, towels, floors, kitchenette). The hot plate worked well. There was a grocery story nearby. The neighbourhood was quiet.

"Süss" is not accurate. It's quite sparse and dorm-like. The room was really small ... fine for one person but not much room for two people. There were no instructions (for tv, wifi, washing machine, local stores or services). The wifi didn't work (despite being given a password I was later told the network was down ... for three days ... not sure what to believe about that). It was manageable but didn't feel cozy. Had to put my own sheets on the bed. No bedside table or bedside lamp. No little touches to be welcoming. No reading materials or info about the city. "Mitten in Hamburg" is not accurate; it was quite a long subway ride from the Zentrum. Bus 30 or 182 might be easier because the bus stops are closer than Luttherotestrasse U-Bahn station but you can't get a Tageskarte on the bus.
