New Town Rooms

Room was exactly as described and although compact was fine for one person; lighting was okay despite no window (as advertised). Check-in arrangements were all straightforward and well explained, owner's contact details were well documented should there be any issue. Spotless toilet with well-thought out amenities. Good wifi. The bed was comfortable and the shower was fine. It does exactly what it says on the tin and I'd stay here again.

Can't be helped as it's a basement room but phone signal wasn't great (but the wifi made up for that), and the air was quite humid but not unexpected. The shower was a bit slow to drain (Room 2) but again, not a problem with judicious stops and starts of the shower! Minor observations that would not stop me from staying in this room again, though.

It was cozy and had everything we needed. Jack was a great host and answered all our inquiries promptly. Loved that the toilet for guests were provided with sanitary products, toothbrushes etc - I found this to be really thoughtful.

As long as you are okay with the fact that there are no windows, and that the toilet is shared (details that you shoud have already known from the booking), New Town Rooms is great for a night's rest in Edinburgh. The shower in the room in fantastic, and the room itself is fairly comfortable! And very well-located to walk to the Water of Leith.
