Overall a very nice stay. The one drawback of this property is the walk to get there....a lot of steps to property from main street. We had suitcases and while we appreciated the good work out; it was a lot to deal with on a repeat trips into town.

We spent a week in this lovely home in October, and can wholeheartedly recommend. The home is very spacious for two people, with plenty of closet space, extra blankets for chilly autumn nights, plentiful hot water and a nicely-equipped kitchen. Hostess Allessandra and her helper, Eduardo, were accessible and helpful. We enjoyed a visit to Allessandra's adorable shop in Levanto. The home is very private and peaceful with a lovely sea view. Can't wait to return!!

Alessandra‘s property is clean as a pin and a beautiful setting. It has a lovely well kept and shaded front yard, which we used the whole time we were there. The kitchen, bathroom are well set up, and maintained. Everything functioned perfectly. We couldn’t have asked for a better location or hostess. Edward was able get us in and show about the property, and the guide book was self explanatory. Our communication with Alessandra was on a need to know basis, and worked out perfectly. This was our second time to the Cinque Terre, but our first time to Monterosso and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The location is perfect, I think monterosso is probably the best town to stay in - it’s flat and the only town with a “real” beach. Would have loved to have beach towels (and maybe an extra towel or 2 in general). No toiletries provided, but that’s fine, there were stores in town to buy shampoo and body wash etc. Only thing I was unexpectedly asked to pay for parking in cash. Kind of strange as the listing says parking is provided. Bed not the most comfortable, however I notice this is a regular occurrence across France / Italy. The location and the peacefulness of the place is unbeatable. Seriously. Would recommend, the other towns get waaay too busy and I can imagine would be extremely difficult with luggage. The home is in a safe and quiet location. The kind of area you can imagine living in. Easy checkin. No complaints. View of mountains and ocean from the front yard is a dream. I only wish I was in cinque terre longer.

We really didn’t know what to expect as it was our first time to Italy and Monterosso. After a busy and intense few days in Milan, we were warmly welcomed by Edward who was assisting the lovely Alessandra our host. The bottle of wine and Easter eggs were a lovely touch. The property is perched upon a hill overlooking the town. The view is simply stunning. The property is a good size for our family of 4 and our young kids had no trouble sharing a bed. Edward gave lovely recommendations for local restaurants, supermarket and bakery. We were only a few minutes from the town centre either by the road or the stairs of which there are approximately 170. I loved being able to get locally made pesto and pasta and to cook it at the property and eat it admiring the view. I also sat there daydreaming of when we can come back!

The accommodations were great and Roberto's restaurants suggestions were superb!! We (except for my mom) could walk to and from the new and old sections of MonteRosso easily. I have nothing bad to say. Alessandra met us at the apartment and shared her love of the area, how to find things and work the appliances as well as a bottle of local wine and cake from a local bakery upon arrival. We fell in love with the Cinque Terre and were very thankful to have chosen Monterosso to base in. The apartment was very close to the beach and there were quite a few steps to take if you took the shortcut to the town, but no matter where you go in the area, there will be steps. We enjoyed hiking the seaside trail from Monterosso to Vernazza and took the train to visit the other towns. Would like to come back to her place and spend longer (a week) next time.

We loved our 3 nights stay in Monterosso Al Mare and Cinque Terre. The house is beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable for a family with 2 kids or 4 adults and has great location close to the beach, shops and restaurants. The kitchen is equipped withe everything you may need. We enjoyed having our breakfasts in the colorful garden in front of the house admiring the magnificent views of the Mediterranean. There is a private parking across the street and a quick pedestrian shortcut to the beach. Alessandra greeted us upon arrival and showed us all the amenities in the house. She also gave us great recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing. The next time we visit this wonderful village we will definitely stay in Alessandra's home.

Great property

The property was tastefully and well furnished. The location was very convenient (although there were 178 steps to climb if you have restricted mobility). The view was excellent and we especially enjoyed the patio. Alesandra was easy to work with and very accommodating. Although the price for this unit was slightly higher than some of the other properties we considered, you get what you pay for. We would definitely stay here again.

I am not one who writes reviews-- I always want to but never do. But there was no way I was going to forget to write this one. When the taxi dropped us to meet Alessandra ( arranged by Allesandra-- totally not expected but greatly appreciated), my first reaction was "the pictures do not do this view justice." The apartment is perfect for a couple with 2 children (or even 4 adults). We ate in 3 nights-- using food from the town markets and local wine. We ate out the other nights in restaurants recommended by Alessandra and had amazing dining experiences. We used Monterosso as our home base to explore all of the Cinque Terre and a little beyond (Pisa and Levanto). Alessandra was extremely helpful with these excursions-- including directing us to a bike rental experience that we will never forget-- amazing! We have used VRBO for all of our European travel and some domestic (US) and have never been disappointed-- but this experience was extraordinary. Alessandra is so very helpful and warm and lovely. We hope to return soon! One note-- while my family loved the stairs to town (burn off gelato calories consumed)-- they are not for anyone with physical limitations. Love love love...

It is spacious, clean, a great view, and equipped with a washing machine. I appreciated the locked gate with security lighting. My biggest concern was the communication with the owner. Alessandra is very demanding of payment prior to the due dates. She speaks very good English through email, but pretend not to know English when there is conflict. She greeted us when we arrived on time and went over instructions of using the house. Before she left us she asks us to leave by 10:00 AM for checkout because she has cleaners coming. At the rate we paid, I expect to not depart until 11:00 AM which is normal checkout procedure. We paid a costly cleaning service, yet we were expected to clean the dishes, take out the trash, pull the bedding off. The day we were supposed to check out she arrives at the residence while we were still sleeping. It was very unprofessional. I have a much better experience with 3 of the home rentals that I used during my holiday in Italy. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again.

We stayed in the charming place with another couple. We flipped a coin for the bedroom, and it worked out just fine. This place has everything you need, including peace and quiet. On our last night we ordered take out pizza, and enjoy a nice bottle of local wine. Our hostess met us at the train when we arrived, and arranged for taxi to take us to place. She was so helpful in giving us the list of places to eat, etc. This place was fine for two couples, and would be great for a family of four. The yard has a pleasant view of the ocean. I would highly recommend.

My family and I visited Cinque Terre in May 2016. I was a bit nervous traveling in Italy for the first time. Staying in this beautiful beach home with our gracious host made such a difference. She met us at the train station, paid the taxi to take us to our home. Gave us useful information. The home is so charming and has everything you need. It looks just like the pictures. Out of the 4 properties we syayed at in our travels this was by far the best! Alessandra thank you for everything. I hope I see you again some day!

My wife and I had a fine visit at Alessandra's lovely flat in Monterroso. We had a rental car, so her private parking place immediately across from the apartment worked well. My wife's bad knee was challenged by walking the stair steps into town and back, but I could jitney her down (very short by car) then take her back up when our outing was over. All that exercise caused me to lose a few pounds, despite eating very well. Do not miss the Restaurant Miky! Alessandra's place is well buffered from the sounds of passing trains, which zip by in a right-of-way about 25 meters wide; it is sunken, so as to buffer sight and sound. Don't book anyplace in the CT until you find out its proximity to the rail lines. Two items totally out of the host and visitors' control. The boats that carry visitors to the other three "Terre" that are on the water cannot dock whe the sea is up. Use the info in the apt to We had a great time and really enjoyed our interactions with Alessandra. She's a fine host!

Alessandra - What a pleasure to have met you & thank you for your hospitality. The apartment was beautiful, the garden with sea view was awesome and very private. Five minutes by steps to the beach, train station and main street, and a 10 minute walk to the old town where they have lots of shops and restaurants. The apartment also had private secured parking. The apartment was very well equipped, had everything you could possibly need, lot of glasses, dishes, utensils, etc. It was a great location with easy access by train or boat to visit all the other villages in Cinque Terre. Highly recommend this place & would stay here again when we return to the Cinque Terre area.

Dear Alessandra, Thank you for your hospitality. We had an amazing stay at your property. The accommodations and location were perfect with a nice ocean view: it’s close to town but away from the noise and crowds, five minutes by steps to the beach and main street. We had ground floor apartment of the 2 story house, 3 adults. The apartment is very specious, well-equipped, we had everything we could possibly need. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed eating outside under the huge pine trees shades. Alessandra is a very attentive and accommodating host: she met us by taxi at the train station and in 10 minutes we already were on the beautiful grounds of her apartment. She provided us with the map and detailed information of the town, beach, restaurants etc. She ordered us taxi for our departure. We will recommend this place to all our friends who will plan to visit Cinque Terre.

Had an exceptional stay in this great property overlooking the sea in Monterosso. The owner, Alessandra, was extremely friendly and helpful and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. The house is well situated near stairs to take you to town or the train station and as a starting point to explore the Cinque Terre area. The town of Monterosso is beautiful and has a beach with the water warm enough to swim in early October. Wonderful restaurants and shops pepper the streets of the old town and Alessandra can help you choose the best spots. I highly recommend this property would love to come back again.

We spent three nights in this house and had the whole bottom floor to ourselves. It was exactly 156 steps to the main street and railroad station and there was a bus stop in front of the house that we could also use. Our host, Alessandra, was kind and solicitous, even making the extra effort to leave food prepared for us when we arrived late since she anticipated it would be impossible to find anything open. All the conveniences were there with lots of tourist and visiting information available to us. It was ideal for the two of us, one with mild mobility problems. We heartily recommend it to others.
