Host & Stay - Cragg Cottage

The location was perfect as it is situated a street behind a busy street. The house was lovely with a great outdoor space. The property was set across 3 floors and the rooms were a good size. The kitchen had everything you needed and the house felt like a home for the week we stayed.

There was only 1 bathroom, The stairs were steepish and windy but that is to expected for a fisherman's cottage. I would warn tall people that the shower is great but if you are 6ft+ you will not be able to stand up in it. We checked all routes to the property during our stay and were unable to find a step free access to the property. The best we managed was 8 steps which was easy enough with a buggy. Having said that Whitby is famous for its 199 steps to the abbey and steps to the whalebone on west Pier and so accessibility may not be ideal for all.

the location was perfect. we were out on the boats so its very close to the endeavour and the car parks. a flat walk no hills. nice to have a garden to sit out in.

the only 2 issue for us. a group of 6. was maybe only 1 bathroom. we managed fine. but after a full day fishing and 6 wanting showers at the end of the day it took some planning. the other issue for us having a couple of larger gents the stairs were a little difficult to negotiate as they were quite narrow and steep. everything else was perfect. for a smaller group this would be perfect.. having said that we all said we would still absolutely stay again.

It was extremely cozy and the location was fantastic!

The stairs were extremely awkward and difficult. We appreciate they are original and in keeping with a period property but this should have been highlighted in the description. The house was very small for six people downstairs, not enough seating
