A good value. I was very comfortable here. Was it the cleanest place in Japan? No. But it's such a good price that you do get your money's worth. It's clean enough and big enough. I like the deep Japanese tub. The beds were also very comfortable. Japanese beds tend to be on the stiff side but these were a nice medium. The shin okubo area is also a lively place to stay and the apartment is easy to find and close to the station.
I didn't like the hot water system. I have never had to activate a separate water heater in Japan (or anywhere) before. I followed the instructions but if you have multiple family members taking a bath, be careful. The hot water ran out in the middle of filling the water and i had to get out, restart the water heater from the panel outside the bathroom, and wait for it to heat up again before I could continue filling the bathtub.
