The Home was very well equipped, and cozy, and the hot tub was great.Right across the street was the pathway/staircase to the beach. However, the staircase was recently washed away, so there was a rope and some boulders to climb down that was too dangerous for me, but my husband and grandson are more fit and went that route, although I wouldn’t recommend it. For me it was in the car driving a short hop south to Governors Beach, which had an easy access, restrooms, etc. but you need a 10 park day pass for parking. There were probably other easy free beaches around though. Not e the Waldport beaches are covered with driftwood.Also there was a Hilltop Restaurant menu in the home and we found their food to be just as good as the Drift Inn in Yachats, which was 6 miles south, a 35 minute wait and about 10 more for same entree. We were pleasantly surprised, as Hilltop is probably less than a mile north and the food was delicious! We did take out,

I have to start with how fantastic it was to communicate with Meredith Lodging. They were responsive, helpful, and friendly. Unfortunately the refrigerator was not keeping a cold temperature so we couldn’t use it. They did send someone out as quickly as they could but it didn’t resolve the issue. Fortunately we had a cooler to keep our stuff cold. They offered to bring maintenance out again but we chose not to so we could proceed with our vacation and not worry about maintenance coming. The home was clean but had a bit of an odor. Granted it is an older home that allows dogs so that may have had something to do with it. The home for our needs and the backyard was great for our little doggies. The kitchen has all the needed items for cooking and eating. The walk to the beach was SO CLOSE to the home but please be aware if you have any height or mobility issues you will NOT be able to get down there. The full set of stairs was destroyed so you have to go down the side of the hill via boulders. However, once you are down there on the sand it is AMAZING. So peaceful and hardly anyone out there. You can walk along the ocean or the river or both!

Overall, our experience here was awesome this house reminds me of the place. I grew up in as I’m getting older. Seems to walk down to the beach. It’s getting harder for me through the path specially with the stairs being gone love this place.

Website is misleading. Outside appearance hardly looks like the same house. There is no ocean view. The pictures say one thing and the printed information another. (Queen bed versus bunk beds). Booked according to the pictures and then found out about the bunk beds. We were two elderly couples. The deck and step posts need some serious upkeed.
