When we first drove up, saw the peeling paint & overgrown yard not a good first impression. Was very musty smelling at first, but we’re able to air out upstairs rooms. 2nd bedroom was in the basement, very musty & damp; cement floor with rugs that smelled of pet urine. Shower curtain was flimsy so water drained onto floor. Grill was stored in basement bedroom and since we didn’t have access to garage had to be put in front entryway after using it. Bathroom upstairs shower doors leaked onto floor. Big bay windows for great views of the ocean & sunsets. Short 5 minute walk to the beach. Great deck to sit & enjoy being outdoors.

The property has a wonderful location adjacent to the beach. Though clean, the home smells of pet urine. Rugs and comforters reeked. Kitchen is bare bones and the furniture is very dated. Not worth the price.

This is just what it shows in the pictures. You have ocean views and direct access to the beach. That makes this place worth it just for that. The accommodations are decent but I previously read reviews about a dank basement and some odors. We brought our own blankets and pillows and a couple blow up mattresses just as a precaution! The upstairs bedroom smelled like a drunken sailor that was in the sun all day. The bed spread seemed unwashed and stunk the most. We didn’t use the downstairs bedroom but it did smell strong of “cover up” scent. So, if they start using some real laundry detergent and maybe new linens, half the issues would be fixed. Not sure how you fix musty basement smell. Maybe get a dehumidifier down there? Anyway, place is a great location for the basically having a private beach but bring your own blankets and pillows!

I was on my spring break and i was in desperate need of unwinding. The panoramic view from the couch was everything i didnt realize I needed. I optes to sleep on the daybed. I cannot begin to deacribe the aound of the waves at jight. The view of the stars from my bed. It was perfect. The walk to the beach is short, my parents who are getting older would struggle with the hilly parts and the loose sand. But kverall..highly impressed!

We loved the location, direct beach access and a sweet, quiet community. Only complaint is there is no overhead lighting in the living room and dining room space, and the lighting that was on the walls was hard white lighting, so playing games and doing puzzles was a bit difficult.

Right on the beach. Cross the beautiful sandy grass dunes to a beautiful wide beach. You can view the stars easily at night as it gets so dark. Close to Cape Perpetua and hiking trails. While it was pet friendly it did not smell like pets at all.

Great location with fantastic beach access. Pool at the club house was very nice. Plenty of room for us (husband & wife w/ two teenagers). Kitchen is very small. Cleanliness was so-so. Lots of dust noted on light fixtures and window sills in kitchen. Wet towels were in the dryer when we arrived. Shower drain on upstairs level needs to be snaked.

This is definitely a quirky house with a lot of thrift store finds. The home has a very odd lay out with a tiny kitchen and tiny bathrooms. The water pressure was nice, but the hot water does not last at all. The pool hours are very restrictive and if you want to go swimming it’s going to cost you with some cash. I’ve stayed at clubs like this and there was always a pool pass left for the guests.

Really loved our stay here, loved all the windows and the coziness of the living room. I would suggest new deck chairs since 2 out of the three are broken in more than one area. We had a great time staying here for my birthday and all wished we could afford to stay longer than 3days.

It was the cutest beach house. Perfect location. It just came with roommates...ANTS!! They were in the kitchen and dining area. It didnt ruin our stay, but it made things difficult with our food. Also, maybe dust and get rid of spiders and cobwebs before the next tenant. Otherwise its a great place to stay.

Booked this house for my husbands birthday get away and had another couple with us. The location of the home was perfect. Nice little walk to the beach, the house is so small though it says it sleeps five people but only two bed rooms and tiny twin bed in the living room. The downstairs bedroom smelt like cat urine as well. On top of all the fees you pay to book the room you also have to buy a pass for the pool which is $8.00 and you can only use it for two hours out of the day??? We requested late check out a week in advanced they told us to let them know 24 hours before checking out which we did. They could t accommodate since they where booked back to back which didn’t make sense to me considering you can check in until 5. The cleaning service would’ve had plenty of time considering you’re supposed to clean most of the house yourself after paying a $200 cleaning fee. Overall not worth the price

We stayed here after the Labor Day weekend and pretty much had the beautiful beach to ourselves. The view is nice from the second level, partially blocked by dunes which is advertised. The cottage itself is eclectic, beachy, older. Would not recommend bed area in lower level which shares space with propane BBQ, washer/dryer, is dark & no view - it comes across as a "makeshift" bedroom, rugs/carpets on top of cement. If you are looking for a nice location & older style beach cabin, this works. The day bed and sailboat decor are nice touches. Didn't mind the wood walls. Stove is small & we had everything we needed. Nice neighbors & pet friendly. Very heavy "Pine-sol" smell upon arrival - would recommend more neutral cleaning solutions.

Arrived at the house and the code did not work for the door lock. Called the rental company and they got somebody out quickly. That was the most positive part of our experience. The house was dirty. Dust, cobwebs, even a rat turd under the day bed! The basement bedroom was dank and smelled a little like a musty old house. Location on the beach was nice at least. We would definitely not rent this place again.

Location just a short walk over the dunes and the view were worth overlooking the quirkiness of the house. The house could’ve had better lighting and the basement bedroom smelled like a basement but we were willing to overlook those things for the amazing view and proximity to the beach.

Perfect location for us, right on the beach. Living room was very comfortable for hanging out together and enjoying the view, it’s incredible. Missing a couple of things, no telescope and we had to buy a frying pan. Minor problems , mostly excellent experience .

The wrong pin number was assigned when we checked in and it took some extra time to get sorted. We had 5 min of hot water daily and contacted management on the second morning we were there to please look into it. It didn't seem to be a priority and it took until the afternoon of day 4 to be fixed. Unfortunate circumstances but a beautiful house with a great view.

Nice little house, right on the beach, pretty much everything you'd expect in a beach house. Having the private beach access over the dunes is awesome, and the wall of windows overlooking the ocean is great (our dogs especially loved watching the seagulls from the living room). Plus, the house had a lot of good games which were fun during the couple of rainy days we had. Waldport is also a great place to stay, pretty close to Newport and Yachats, and there's a grocery store nearby if you need anything. The only issues we had were communicating with the property management company. Our check-in time was moved back 2 hours the day before we arrived, which was bit challenging for us, and we never got a real clear answer as to why. Also, the entry code to the house wasn't pushed correctly (it's all done remotely), so we had to call when we arrived to have the door opened, and then the next day, as well. But eventually it got resolved. However, since no one was checking in the same day we left, we did get a later check-out time at no charge, which was nice.

We had a couple of issues, but they were resolved to our satisfaction. The code to the door didn’t work so had to call right away for a new code and eventually just used the house key. The views from the house were gorgeous. It was a quick walk to the beach and although the weather didn’t permit, there was a great deck for barbecuing and awesome wood stove for a cozy evening. We explored south to Florence and north to Lincoln City. Great place for a home base!

We called the management company and it took a couple of tries to reach anyone. Luckily, they took care of the issue fast, and they were able to give us a lockbox code for a hard key, and we were able to get in about 15 minutes later. But I think management needs to find another option for door entry besides the keypad. (Note: We noticed that Meredith Lodging has an office off the highway, at the entrance to the neighborhood. We didn't stop in, but I'd assume someone there could provide quick help if needed.) Anyway, after that, our experience was great! The house is as close to the beach as you can get. There's a private sand path over the dunes to get to the actual beach (about a 1-2 minute walk). The kitchen was VERY well-stocked and had multiple pots, pans, ground coffee and a coffee maker, as well as any cooking utensil you could probably need. The house was spotless. The bathrooms had soap and shampoo/conditioner and plenty of towels.I will add that the beds were on the firm side, but we got used to them after 1 night.

The view from the house and easy access to the beach was wonderful. The neighborhood is very quiet and the beach is private. The house a bit rough but fine - good supply of cooking equipment. The big issue was that the second bedroom is in the basement with cement floors and a small ground-level window. Very dark and kind of musty. My daughter tried it one night but we ended up taking turns on the day bed in the living room. The beds were extremely hard and difficult to sleep on. Love the location and would stay in the area again but not in this house. Lots of the reviews are really good and that's what I went on, so it might be fine for some folks. Also, if you want to cook meat on the stove, there is no vent/fan so you can't really use it for that.

After arriving at the house the code did not work. Took us over an hour to get ahold of anyone who could help us check in. The location and view are spectacular! However it wasn’t worth the headache and dirty location. Past guests dirt socks were in the couch and another pair under the bed in the living area. The downstairs had such a strong smell that you couldn’t be in the room without all windows open. We have stayed at Meredith lodging homes before and usually they are beautiful and clean. We had high expectations for the cleanliness that this location did not meet.

We enjoyed our stay. A couple of things to note. The downstairs bathroom heater is not working. We lacked some basic provisions that are important for cooking. Lighting could be better throughout the house. We found it hard to read our books. But overall enjoyed the house.

We had a great time here. Being so close to the beach/ocean is great. The property had all the amenities and features we expected. The only thing was the lights on the wall were VERY white and bright. Would be nice to have those toned down a little bit.

We came for our annual girls trip. It was a nice cozy house with amazing views of the ocean. We even saw whales!! House matches photos perfectly. I was not disappointed. Would definitely come back.
