Zambezi Family Lodge - Buffalo Room

The lodge is like a home away from home, with nice sized rooms, a gorgeous pool, and a stunning garden that's perfect for relaxing (just be sure to wear bug spray). The staff are super friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need! The location is also great - just a short walk or taxi drive to town where there are restaurants and shops. You also get a key to lock your room and there's a security guard at the gate. We were worried about not having a mosquito net over the bed but the room stayed cool enough to where it wasn't an issue and we didn't get bit in the house at all! They do warn you not to walk at night as you might get attacked by wild animals. So save cash for taxi rides after dinner. If you're looking for a budget friendly option and don't mind shared space (living room, kitchen) I would highly recommend!

The room we are finally given.

Location very difficult to find, even with the help of Google Map. There is no sign outside the gate. Even the taxi driver had to call the property to ask for directions. Transfer to another hotel less than 1 km away arranged by the lodge costed about USD15. It is difficult and even dangerous to walk to the town centre from the lodge. We booked a room with private facilities, but were given a room with shared bathroom on arrival. At our insistence we were given a very good room, but the door lock is broken.
