Location is fantastic - as rural as you'll get. Beautiful Scottish countryside - close enough to Dumfries to use the EV chargers in town but far enough away to be rural. Host was very nice - met us at the property. Everything you need for cooking/washing up - hob, microwave, kettle, cafetiere, fridge (no ice box if you like your cocktails jaggy!) belfast sink (or something very like it). As Martin's ad states - it is not clinically presented - it is authentic and rural. We felt warm enough so didn't light the range nor the log fire in the bedroom - wasn't needed. No bathroom as such but WC has a fantastic wee shower. LOADS to grab your eye - paintings, books, crockery - there's even a piano with some music sheets! Lovely place - would love to go back. Dumfries - terrible roads when we visited, town centre is a bit grid locked. New Abbey Corn Mill definitely worth a visit. Sweetheart Abbey too - both Historic Scotland sites. Staff were very knowledgeable and team room and big long walks around the abbey. Free parking too.
I think if I enter anything here, I'd be being pedantic. It's rural, rustic and you get what you see. Enjoy!

A wonderfully relaxing stay at Threecrofts. We had four comfortable nights in a charming little 18th century house, attached to the host's. Think small, cosy, country and comfortable, surrounded by books and antiques with a shabby country style ...it suited us perfectly. Our collie Keats was welcome and got on well with the resident dog...there is a garden area where dog he roamed happily. We took all our food and made happy use of the little kitchen...there is a fridge, hob and microwave to cook with and enough pans etc. Spag Bol and a glass of wine in the garden was very lovely! There's a little TV with loads of DVDs and great WIFI so my partner worked remotely. Bathroom is very cute...we both squeezed under shower...lovely hot water! This is a great gettaway and we loved the remote and peaceful vibe. It was warm so no heating needed...in winter there's a big aga to heat the place and a woodburner upstairs...very romantic! Martin, our host is a gentleman. The key was in the door when we arrived and there are notes for Wifi code etc. Martin was about for everything we needed and put up with our chatting too! This is a special place, à personal one, and rather different in its charm and personality. If you love the sound of horses neighing outside the window, bats flying about at dusk and some awesome stars on a clear night, you might forgive a cobweb or two enjoy this interesting little place to stay. Thanks again Martin...Alex and I had a great holiday !
There was nothing we did not like. However, if you're self catering over an extended period, it's worth noting in the details that there is no freezer.

We loved that it has so much character and charm. It was like stepping back in time. It’s very rustic and like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. Was delightful. Martin was friendly made us feel welcome. The landscape setting was beautiful. We were so relaxed on our 2 night stay.
The potholes on the path to the property were a bit big.

Location was convenient, 15 minutes from Dumfries. It was quiet. Quaint property.
Fridge wasn't plugged in, so not cold when we arrived to put things in it. Property was pretty cold - only heating downstairs was a Rayburn/Aga which wasn't very efficient. No heating in the bathroom. You can barely sit on the toilet because the sink is in the way - needs a smaller sink! Oil radiator in bedroom worked fine. Parking area was poorly labelled and muddy.
