The Big One Blackpool

Quiet location with free on street parking. Less than 5mins walk for frequent buses into Blackpool and Lytham St Annes (used No 11 for the festival) and Preston. About 15 minutes walk to Blackpool Pleasure Beach train station for hourly trains to Preston and the South Shore though a very basic station. Less than 5mins walk to bakers, butchers, supermarket, cafe, pubs serving food, Italian restaurant and a Chinese takeaway though I only used the supermarket. Felt safe coming home late from the festival on my own. Great selection of cooking pans & utensils which I made great use of during my stay. The oven was great and the hob (once my host showed me how to unlock it) The washing machine was very useful after I spilled food on myself whilst cooking. Liked the flat's colour scheme too. Flat was a nicely sized and warm and cosy but perhaps less storage boxes in the lounge would give more floor space. The hosts were very responsive to my messages and fixed some initial teething problems including my inept hob unlocking prowess.

Towels were on the small size and I'm not a large lady. TV was hanging off the sitting room wall when I arrived and the window safety catches had been undone which was potentially dangerous. However both situations fixed promptly the following morning. Would have preferred a safety latch on the flat's door for peace of mind as I was mostly on my own. Some of the inner flat doors didn't pull to properly so creaked and banged with the windows I like open at all times, so woke me occasionally at night. A large fridge freezer would have been great as there's room for one, though there was a small ice box inside the fridge. Instructions for all equipment (heaters etc) would be appreciated as would local information for transport and shops & restaurants in the flat itself though there was some information at the communal door.

This was the second time my son and his dad have stayed here and its exactly as advertised. Bright, clean, airy, spacious and really close to the pleasure beach, everything you need and sensibly priced.

Lovely staff, clean, well furnished and equipped for a short stay. Nicely decorated property. The hosts were very attentive, thoughtful and helpful.

Shower was either freezing cold or too hot. Maybe the thermostat was broken at the time.

The property was clean and tidy, everything was well prepared. Check in information email received more than 24h in advance

Consturction noise from outside woke me up at 8:30am
