Unique single occupancy studio

The studio was in the basement of the backside of a building. Due to the absence of real window and a massive door, it was quiet, insulated against any sound from outside (perfect for sleeping) but also from any heat from outside, so it stayed fresh during the heat wave. The internet was working very well, and the host responded immediately to my question, to use the washing machine and provided me the code of the closet. The bed was comfortable. The check-in was easy, a code on the door, although it took me time to find which door.

The only small window was opening inside the washing machine closet, which means that there was NO DAY LIGHT AT ALL inside, unless, you left the front door open (opening on the alley, with everyone passing by) . The place is a basement so the ceiling was very low, I guess, 2 meters (6,5 feet), and even lower in the shower, so I could not really stand in the shower. There was no utensils at all, only one (!) tea spoon, one wine opener, some one time use wooden forks that you can get for free in supermarkets, some card board plates, and some card board tea cups. One microwave and one water boiler, and that was it. This was disappointing. The whole gave a feeling of neglect. I wouldn't advise it for a stay longer than one or two days.

Great location, in a lovely part of London with good public transport, an hour walk to Paddington. Price was great for the location. The bed was comfortable, it was quiet at night and I slept well. Instructions for finding the place were clear and check-in was easy. It was nice to have a kettle and fridge with tea, coffee and toiletries provided. Despite no windows it did not feel stuffy. A fan was provided. This was a good budget option for the price and I would stay here again.

As there are no windows, it felt a bit claustrophobic when I first went in but I quickly stopped noticing & the lack of windows doesn’t matter when you are only here for sleeping. It’s a bit tatty, with peeling paint on the walls. The shower is low - I could only just get my head under (5’4”). It’s lacking some basic essentials e.g. no reading lamp beside the bed, the kitchen does not have any crockery or cutlery only paper cups, paper plates and disposable cutlery, no bath mat in the bathroom so the floor gets wet. Random ants. It’s a budget accommodation so I did not expect luxury but adding a few more basics would make it better.

simple but perfect location for one person for a short or long stay, I personally recommend it with confidence

Price was ok for London

No window, tiny bed, low ceilings, kept hitting my head in the entrance door and in the shower, not for tall people
