Huse Gjestegard

Huse Gjestegard is a beautiful home/inn on a historic farm very near Kinsarvik. The property is beautiful with lush gardens and a view of the fjord at the bottom of the hill. The room was perfect for two and equipped with a kitchenette, bathroom with radiant heated floors, and a private deck. It is an incredibly tranquil place to stay with a lovely host.

Kinsarvik is a small village with limited food options. My recommendation for future visitors is to be aware of the hours of the local gas station, grocer, and restaurants when planning your travel. We arrived on a Sunday evening and made it to the grocery store within 5 minutes of closing, and otherwise would not have had any nearby options for food.

We had a wonderful stay! The views were absolutely beautiful, and the place was spotless, comfortable, and very convenient. Everything was exactly as described, and we loved every part of our stay. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable place to stay.

There was no breakfast included. We had to stop in town to ask where our reservation was and luckily the young lady that we asked happened to know the owner and called her. With that help we were able to check in. The cottage and location were cute and adequate but not convenient. The bottom floor was fine, but bathroom was small and the bedroom was upstairs with a small trundle type bed in the hallway to the one bedroom. The ceiling was steeply sloped and I hit my head several times as there was little space to move in the center of the room and trying to put a suitcase out of the main aisle, you would hit your head on the ceiling. The stairs to the upstairs was narrow and curved and difficult to navigate. We hand to hand luggage up. To get to the bathroom we had to pass by the bed in the hallway where our friend was sleeping with no privacy. We thought the cost was high for the conditions. But we made it work !
