Argyl - Abbey Gate Studios near Holyrood

Access to the apartment was simple and the room on arrival was super clean. We liked the layout of the room with sleeping, kitchen and lounge spaces nicely zone and the bathroom and kitchen facilities were excellent. Althougg we could hear others in their studios from the hall within the apartment it was very quiet. The neighbourhood of Abbyhill was very nice with lots independent shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. We would stay again!

Staying in July the room was very warm and we were only able to open the windows a fraction due to safety locks. We were grateful for the standing fan but it was still very warm. Probably wouldn't book here again July/August to avoid staying here in hot weather.

Home away from home.

It needed a decent size clothes airer instead of the very small one they had.

Proximity to The Royal Mile and Holyrood Palace. We liked having the kitchen and laundry.

The room we were given was the storefront unit which we entered directly from the street. Unfortunately it was on a very noisy corner with pedestrian and vehicle traffic going by at all hours of the day and night making it difficult to sleep. On two nights of our 4 night stay we had people from the bar next door outside on our doorstep smoking and talking. The double bed was shoved against a wall and was not comfortable for two people.
