I liked the ease of.going swimming. Lots of towels.and hooks provided. The kitchen is well equipped with extras and one can feel.the attention to.details which make the apt. comfortable.
A little noisy outside the bdrm.somerimes.

A quaint, well decorated space in a fabulous location, just a short walk to many restaurants, beaches and sights. We ate out while staying there so didn't use the kitchen facilities, but it seemed to have everything you would need. We liked the decor and cute courtyard adjoining the bedroom, although didn't really use the space (too cold outside in winter)
The bathroom was dated, but still clean and the shower was much nicer than I expected (based on looks). But the bathroom ventilation was limited. I am not a fan of mechanically ventilated bathrooms - smells and moisture can linger... I'm not sure if it was the area or specific to this unit, but the bathroom drains smelt bad. If the extraction fan was off and the bathroom door left open, these smells permeated into the bedroom / living space.

Good location for exploring Kalk Bay, great to be opposite the tidal pool
The cottage has an awful smell in the bathroom that I see others have complained about before, smells like drains. Not a good place if you're a light sleeper, the cottage is right next to the main road which is far noisier/busier than I expected and the room is not very soundproof. We had an issue with the security gate the first time we left the cottage and when we returned it wouldn't open - the lock was jammed and after contacting the host who sent someone we managed to get it open, the host then arrived later and sprayed some lubricant to help the mechanism and said he'd replace the lock the next day - we never heard or saw him again and we didn't trust the lock so left the security gate unlocked for the rest of our stay. When we left it wouldn't lock so glad we didn't risk it over the stay and find ourselves locked out repeatedly, but definitely not the best communication or service. We also saw a few cockroaches in the kitchen coming in/out of cracks behind the stove top. Sofa is a little worn out (e.g. the arm rest has been flattened) and generally feels like the place could use some attention and care.
