heavily overpriced, 35km from the city. middle of nowhere. reception closes at 11pm. rooms are not attached to the hotel, you need to walk outside to reach reception. they offered transport to the city, but refused to drop off at the address, stating that we can walk 500m (it was -15 celsius) rundown overall, the one good thing was the cleaningness of the rooms. Overall, disappointing. we booked a family room for 4 persons, there were 2 persons staying, yet on their system it showed as 1 person. even do we paid for a large family room for only 2 persons, they had us pay extra for the second person. reception is catered by a single person, and at one point that person was busy for 30 min, explaining some clueless guests about random things like history of the area and such. Even do we were waiting for something that a guest actually needs, the receptionist wasn't bothered and took 30 minutes for nonsense chat.

Nice hotel in quiet area

Good customer service. Can ask about transport assistance. Prompt responses to questions. Room and facilities as described. Very clean in all areas, including kitchen stove top and bathroom. No problem with smell. Available are: stainless steel electric kettle, coffee maker, fridge, pot, pan, plates, cutlery, glass, mugs, dishwashing soap and sponge, slippers, bathrobes, towels, hairdryer, TV, ear plugs. (No safety box.) Good wifi. Room quiet except for the fridge, which can become noisy sometimes (but you can turn it off). Sauna, pool table available. Microwave available in the common room. Nice breakfast selection: bananas, oranges, croissant, bread, cheese, cereal, ham, salad, dessert cakes, cookies, scrambled and hard-boiled eggs, sausages, bacon, warm red beans in tomato sauce, juice, coffee machine. Very near a grocery store. Walking distance of local bus stops (stop: Kemintie 2356), and train station; wooded areas around river (across street) and west/behind hotel/grocery store. Possibility to see northern lights at the location, but unfortunately the one clear night there, the lights apparently didn't appear until like 2 am, so missed it. Hotel entrance is always locked, so make sure you arrange with hotel how to get in upon arrival (especially later in the day). They respond promptly to messages.

Didn't see any restaurant in the vicinity. Nothing to do with hotel, but transport to the hotel by local bus service (info at https://linkkari.fi ) while reliable doesn't run often on weekends from/to Rovaniemi; and northern lights tours (which often go north of Rovaniemi or northwest to Sweden) often charge extra for pickup/drop off outside of center of Rovaniemi. Santa's Express Bus from airport (https://www.airportbus.fi/) is not reliable. The other normal airport bus doesn't run too often. Suggest not buying any airport bus ticket in advance as the bus may not show up. Could maybe share a taxi with people going to Rovaniemi and then taking local bus to hotel (if you don't want to rent a car or go all the way by taxi if you are a solo traveller).

A peaceful and comfortable stay with outstanding service and thoughtful attention to detail.

Our stay at Hotel Boreas was very pleasant and satisfying. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and exactly as shown in the listings. The hotel is about a 20-minute drive from downtown Rovaniemi, which wasn’t an issue for us as we had a rental car. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped, allowing us to prepare light meals and store our food properly. The room was quiet and had blackout curtains, which made the environment perfect for sleeping. Even though our room faced the highway, the we had no issues with noise. The staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, and helpful. We requested a vegan breakfast option, and they didn’t hesitate to accommodate us—they prepared a delicious and complete meal, everything was impeccable! Thank you for the excellent service—we definitely recommend Hotel Boreas!

Quiet, out of the way, shop next door and really friendly and helpful staff, especially Dmitriy who served our breakfast everyday tailored to what we wanted and nothing was too much trouble.

On aurait voulu y rester !

Il est parfait 👍 nous a aidé pour porter les valises , à descendu le chauffage qui chauffe trop , nous a prêté des couvert et a même réchauffé nos plats qu’on a consommé dans la chambre car il n’y a pas de restaurant. - la literie - le petit dej qui est complet - rideaux très occultant 👍

Das gesamte Hotel war sehr sauber. Personal stets freundlich. Lage sehr ruhig. Kostenlose Parkplätze direkt vor dem Hotel. Kleiner Supermarkt gleich nebenan. Sehr schönes Frühstück mit großer Auswahl und frischen Produkten.

Für uns war das Hotel etwas weit von Rovaniemi entfernt und zu wenig in der näheren Umgebung.

Que no hay opciones de comida excepto el desayuno, si deberían ofrecer alguna oferta gastronómica. Es un poco alejado de la ciudad pero eso tiene su plus, la oferta de transporte es poca, así que es mejor alquilar coche

La struttura dista circa una mezz'oretta dall'aeroporto, sarebbe meglio noleggiare una macchina, cosa consigliata per non perdersi i meravigliosi panorami che la natura Lappone offre. Arrivati in hotel sia la sera stessa che l'indomani, abbiamo da subito visto l'aurora boreale sopra i tetti😍. La camera si presenta pulita, ordinata, impeccabile così come anche il bagno. Dietro la reception invece, si ha la possibilità di giocare a biliardo o a vari giochi da tavolo. La colazione molto varia ed abbondante e che dire dello staff: perfetto! Ci ha accolti oltre l'orario del loro servizio e per colazione hanno portato una torta con le candeline, per mio marito che aveva compiuto gli anni ❤️. Top veramente in tutto!

Huoneissa jääkaappi, eipä muuta kummempaa.

Lakanat oli kamalat, huoneissa todella kuuma, aamiaisella ei ollut suomalaisia elementtejä juuri ollenkaan. Suomenkielistä asiakaspalvelua ei ole saatavilla. Ruoan valmistus mahdollista vain hotellin aulan mikrolla.

On avait la voiture donc c’était idéal pour visiter la ville. La chambre était nickel ménage équipements complets salle de bain chauffé. Petit déjeuné excellant et frais. Le personel était réactif et à l’écoute.

Tout était parfait. Nous avons juste eu du mal avec la literie très moelleuse car nous somme habitué à du plus ferme. Cela restait de très bonne qualité.

Fijne en gemoedelijke locatie, alles prima verzorgd. We zouden een volgende keer zeker weer boeken.

Het was een kleinschalige, rustige en gemoedelijke locatie. Er was een pooltafel en bordspellen die je kon doen. Heel relaxed. Weg uit de drukte van de stad. Parkeergelegenheid voor de deur. Prima ontbijt. Ruime kamer en goeie douche, goed bed. Lekker warm binnen.

Tolles Hotel, sauber, gute Sauna, Frühstück aber leider nicht so gut, die Frühstückseier kamen eher aus der Fertigpackung :( und der Lachs naja, wir sind uns nicht sicher, die Musik war auch eher störend sowie der Fernseher im Frühstücksraum.

Pas de restauration sur place en dehors du petit déjeuner Quelques doutes sur l'hygiène de la cuisine avec la machine à chocolat chaud et le présentoir à viennoiseries qui n'étaient pas vidés à 20h.
